Unfortunately things do not always go to plan but surely at sometime there was credible backing for the Pinnacle deal. I felt uneasy with all the MLT hype as I did not think he has what is needed to be chairman and when I heard Mike F and Tony L talk of the future I was completely underwhelmed. However the fans were really happy but did not know what was happening in the buying process to a large extent we still dont Perhaps Markus was not pushing to hard enough to buy the club because of the MLT hysteria but because of it we may lost all probability of promotion this season
-
Statistically what are the odds of this happening?
-
I think he probably knows
-
Perhaps the other teams in Div 1 have the same strategy to get promoted
-
They wanted to save money in order to reduce the debt Irrelevant of what happened to the team
-
Having never seen him play or never even heard of him I am not able to comment on his suitability But 33 does seem to be a bit old
-
perhaps there is nothing to moan about at the moment
-
I dont think anybody said it It is just the expectations of the posters
-
I agree with you it is not the best but when we were in the Premiership it was pretty good.
-
Just trying to bring amusement to a wet day but I am glad OBS is posting
-
That is a cheap comment I thought Dyer Surmamn and McGoldrick were Academy players The England U21 which lost in the final had two Southampton Academy players
-
Are you saying we are going to walk this League?
-
What I meant was doing things fast is not always the right approach Wotte would have brought in players by now
-
Strangely after the announcement but I agree with your post but it will take a little time. Perhaps if we had appointed Tony Adams the day of the takeover or kept Wotte you would be happier
-
You do think League 1 is rubbish dont you Probably correct but as Pardew says everything is right with SFC Stadium Owners Facilities Fans but not the team
-
I was talking in general about expectations Last season about this time most peoples expectations I think were that SFC would finish 16th or above which seemed rather high.
-
Set targets which are realistic for the people involved it is no good giving targets which cannot be met otherwise people get turned off. Give targets which can be achieved and give incentives for targets to be over achieved I think is the best approach seems to work in business
-
I am sorry for my flipant comment but I just feel that peoples expectations are too high which leads to disappointment. Whether it impacted on the players I dont know but we did have decent players but not outstanding which is the difference. Our Promotion teams in both 1966 and 1978 did have outstanding players
-
Not really we got to the playoffs which I thought was OK We played pretty well in the Play Off Games and with a bit of luck we could have won. If Davis had played as well as did last season I think we may have gone up because I felt Bart was responsible for one of the goals at St Mary's through a lack of experience However after that he should have sorted out the defence instead of bringing in John and Euell I know John scored lots of goals but so might Rasiak/Saga if they were given chances

Thank you that really made me laugh
-
I think it was a well respected Academy and has a good record with producing players and winning matches. But you are right people put spin on it and the next thing we are the best in the land but Probably the best on the South Coast
-
Because we were not good enough for Automatic Promotion I would have thought. Perhaps you should be realistic in your expectations to avoid continual disappointment
-
Although I agree with what you are saying it is not unknown for teams to buy players to make the team better as we now have no payments on the Stadium there should be a surplus for players

Confused and Anxious not doing very well today:D
