  1. It was a bit old though was it not
  2. Is he the bloke who scored for Everton against us in The Premiership after we had played so well
  3. Middlesborough spent loads on Alves over £10m but he did not score many goals
  4. Edrich Stand excellent view from the top probably the best in the ground apart from the Pavilion
  5. Yes I think so
  6. I think that golf has the most sportmanship of any sport the players never seem to cheat or try to gain advantage. They also take defeat with good grace
  7. I would have thought we would be favourites after our batsman's failure we came back really well
  8. I agree I would not expect all to have a career in the Premiership but I feel we have produced a number of good players and we should not be little our Academy. With the large influx of foreign players it is not surprising that there are not many British players around. We always seemed to have a couple of Scots in the team but not nowadays
  9. We had one Brett Ormerod in fact I think we may have been looking at Zamora at the time as he was at Brighton
  10. Formula one sport I thought the one with best car won
  11. Where was MCJ I was away on holiday so did not follow the match The best Knock out match I saw was http://acscricket.com/Archive/Scorecards/37/37131.html Jesty hit one over for 20 Got a frre ticket used my company car met some Glamorgan members who took me to lunch would not accept me buying them beer So the whole day cost me 25p for the Severn Bridge The semi final was a huge disappointment http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/37/37198.html but the Proctor Hatrick was someting to remember
  12. Javed somebody I think may be Iqbal
  13. It was a no-ball. We were stood next to the sightscreen at the Nursery End (which you could in those days) heard the call and legged it. When I got my photos back I hadn't got Nicholas lifting the cup as some Skate cvnt had his arm up in the way. Why aren't they in Sussex. Yep really enjoyed the pitch invasion from Compton Lower in '91, quite a few Saints fans on the pitch then. Really hoping for the right result on Saturday, and a bit of sunshine would be nice... Like you, been to all 5 and was also at the 88 semi final at Chelmsford both days. One almighty **** up with both teams (except Gooch and Fletcher) in a pub near the ground after rain had cut short our innings. Kevin James told us their hotel was £20 and we followed them all the way back to the Post House at Brentwood where us mortals were faced with a bill for £80 a room. A quick phone call to a mate in Leyton and 5 of us including my Dad and the pregnant wife who was driving and we were kipping on floors and sofas. The next day we drove back to Chelmsford in the rain and had to wait till 3pm to start. When Judge hit the winning runs there was a crowd of about 30 of which 20 were Hants fans and a comittee member cracked open a bottle of champagne. Went to every Semi Final before the 1988 one which I missed. Got to Lords late for 1988 BH only to we had won by 11.20 Remember seeing Devon Malcolm for the first time and a stunning catch to get rid of Robin
  14. No not in that game at Richmond I think he may have played early in the season
  15. I was listening to Ian Chappell on TMS and he suggested that we should change the No 3 he was not being biased in anyway
  16. I sell books these days and recently sold John Buckingham's Autobiography the jockey of Foinavon
  17. Still makes me laugh every time I see it

  21. What about Arkle brilliant Horse So was Nijinsky and Lester In athletis Bob Beamon jumped a huge distane over 29 feet I think in 1968 Olympics
  22. My favorite happened 1986 in West Indies GREG THOMAS TO VIV RICHARDS (AFTER BEATING HIM FIVE TIMES ON THE TROT) You seem to have trouble locating the ball. Let me help you - it's red and looks like this VIV TO GREG (AFTER BELTING HIM OUT OF THE GROUND NEXT BALL FOR SIX) You know what it looks like, you go and fetch it
  23. Clark is an excellent batsman I wish he could play for us
  24. I think Strauss made the correct decision but should have batted a further 15 overs as discussed earlier It was possible but highly unlikely for Australia to get the runs in six sessions
  25. Sir Roger Bannister breaking the 4 minute mile
