Admin - Watch Rupert find Investors then...
John B replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
Yes when I read that I thought the same so I thought Administration was unlikely in the short term as we dont appear to be selling everything in sight. That maybe a ploy of course to raise layers transfer prices But who knows? Probably a few people but they are not spilling the beans -

What Lowe is doing is probably best for the club in the long term. However Fans are really only interested in today and the team is currently not very good and like most I feel that relegation is almost certain . With relegation there is the uncertainty of the future as we have endured five years of desperation there is the likelihood of that desperation continuing. I would have thought fans want to see success on the field and because that is not happening there is continual negativity. The situation is not helped by the bickering between the main shareholders and the Football Club Chairman seems to have disappeared. It would be nice to get an update from the club on how they see things and what is the likely sceanario in the event of relegation. Whether it is believed or not is another thing. The club needs the fans but does not seem to be doing anything to allay their worries and with no information gloom and doom is the agenda. -
Yes we swoop but Cardiff snap up Rangers' Burke What is the difference Perhaps we did not swoop or snap up in the the right manner for Cork

Yes I agree but how about Colin Farmery who would be completely impartial. The story needs to be told without any spin as our supporters are in my opinion owed it

I dont know I thought he fell out with Lowe that was why I made my comment.

And agents fees on top of that

Too complicated smiley things. I take your word for it but in my experience of working for over forty years in the IT industry numerous CEOs MDs and Chairman are of little use as they play politics most of the time

I thought this was going to happen unlike the Dailly Harewood rumours but no confirmation available. Is this signing likely?

Southampton FC appear twice in Evening Standard Top 10...

That is a good point although Davies was a January signing despite being on loan I cannot think of a really good Saints January signing. -
Right when are you taking over then What about an ex Chairman shooting competition
-
The troule is we have had various people like Wilde Crouch Hone Cowan Delieu and Hoos involved and are still in the mire. I dont think you would like it when we lose a few games getting the abuse from the fans I would nt

Unfortunately the team was a mess really not much quality with ageing players in the defence Strachan from XMAS Sturrock Wigley and Redknapp could do little either
-
OH I know I was being pedantic but who would replace him in the boardroom
-
Why? Surely we would be automatically relegated with loads of points being deducted

Not a January Transfer but probably may have played his first game in January -
We needed a new stadium it had been talked about for years it is just a shame we could not find a popular and successful person to run the PLCl

I disagree We should have become a PLC how did we know the PLC would be run so badly by so many apparent successful people. Also it is possible to get rid of unpopular or unsuccessful Chairman
-
It would also make a good film but I would like a completely independent author to be involved not Duncan

My take is slightly different but we are in a mess 1 Who hired the Manager (Burley) that recommended all these expensive players? Answer Rupert Lowe but did not agree to all the signings at the time Burley was thought to be a good signing with all the relevant experience 2. When Lowe left the wage bill (run rate) was already growing again, the Wilde period just added more Burley expense ratio was about 45% when Lowe left 3. We have had the same Fin Director through all of this, he even voted for the new players! He only was voting on whether the club could afford him. 4. Lowe is basically slagging off Wilde (his supporter) and Jones (his former employee) whilst trying to smear Crouch. We dont know ads yet where the figures came from and whether they are accurate 5. Crouch seems IMHO to have a good grasp of the finances, was willing to make sensible cuts, is able to hire a good Manager and is willing to put in some of his own money to save us. Where do you get this from the previous board highlighed the need for careful use of money which Crouch did not appear to take any noticeo
-
That is probably the reason why when we were in the Premiership we could not afford star names
-
Blame maybe not but responsibility Yes The board is surely responsible for running the club successfully but the board failed big time. They are all a shower and you are defending them
