Buying in a few second rate players did not work either. We are not in a very good position and it is just not possible to get into the position you crave immediately. I am more than willing to listen to alternative solutions so what can be done
-
I dont think he is doing a bad job. If we had sold Rasiak Saga Thomas and had a settled team with say John and Svennson Holmes and Schnerdlin fully fit and playing in most games and a little luck I dont think we would be in the relegation zone now
-
The start winning phrase is the one that worries me. There is no guarantees in football and the wages have to be paid. WE bought in lots of players a couple of years ago and they did not help us to win many games
-
It was just a comment in the Annual Report which seemed to suggest that money would be found in the last resort Also in the current economic conditions banks have been told to try and protect small businesses
-
I would have thought Lowe had little or no input. Clubs would be trying to get us to take loan players. This years loan players Smith seems to have impressed the coaching staff Cork and Pearce Good. Robertson was no good but was recruited to get Dyer off our books. Pekhart who appeared to have lots of potential scored lots of goals for a Premiership Reserve side was found wanting like Euell Thomas
-
Yes it is a dilemma but I dont think we will go into administration because of your last point. However injuries do seem to be causing lots of the current day to day problems as we do not seem to have a settled team
-
It is because we have been unable to recoup transfer money for John Saga Euell Thomas Skacel and Rasiak we are in the trouble we are. Their involvement at SFC has not been a success in fact a disaster probably sums up their involvement
-
Unfortunately we do not know all the facts although I would have thought Smith to be surplus to our requirements. However he a little more experienced than our other youngsters and may have shown the coaching staff that he has potential. Also our other youngsters maybe going to be loaned out. I would have thought between them JP Wotte Hockaday and Henderson would know what they are doing

I think it is a waste of time trying to be constructive on here. Most posters are obsessed by Lowe must be a disease as I cannot see any real logical reason for it.
-
I thought Burley and Redknapp were good appointments but they did not turn out to be and have lead us into the horrible position we are in today. Lowe appointed both so it must be his fault.
-
That is plain stupid Harry would never come here all he wants is a club with loads of money. We have none partly down to Harry that is why we have Lowe and JP. We have to live in the real world not in some fantasy world where everything Lowe does is wrong.
-
Yes I think you are right. By the way if Cork stayed with us I believe Chelsea would not be able to get him back until the end of the season. I know it is unlikely but it would have been a consideration
-
Yuo see you have no real idea have Getting relegated is not important have a financially viable club is. Nottingham Forest were relegated and are now back in our division. The whole thing is going to take time patience and support is the key
-
Lowe may be devisive but he talks more sense than a lot of the posters on here. We need to cut the wage bill and build a strategy for the future that is what is happening it is not going to be easy . He seems to have a better idea of what is required than Leon Crouch
-
Really and how do you come to this conclusion or is it just fantasy and reason to have a go at Lowe.

An interesting article http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/01/the_perils_of_football_league.html#051992 The comments from fans regarding Accrington Stanley seem to be similar to comments from our fans. Should JP be sacked as results have not gone well so far or should he be given a chance to develop the team. Perhaps Lawrie Mac should have been sacked in 1974 when we were relegated certainly if it had happened today Alpine and his sort would surely have been calling for his sacking. Lets face it Sturrock Wigley Redknapp Burley never managed much with better players but the grass is always greener on the otherside

What's the real reason Why J.Cork didn't resign On Loan
John B replied to Smalls's topic in The Saints
It is very easy to post things like this when things are going wrong but we need to support the team . Insulting the board is not going to help they are trying to get the club to move forward but it is difficult with fans like you whining all the time. Surely you must realise that the club spent too much in the past on wages of £500,000 for players such as Thomas Euell Rasiak Skacel John Saga etc and it is now pay back time. -
Well we did win the World Cup with no wingers

What's the real reason Why J.Cork didn't resign On Loan
John B replied to Smalls's topic in The Saints
Well like most people you have no idea of the background relating to the decisions made. With no money and a young team it is not a surprise to me that we are struggling The team needs support not this constant whingeing rubbish from lots of posters. We are where we are deep in the mire and we need to get through it -
Would you BOYCOTT? Ways to get rid of Lowe and the board
John B replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
Absolutely ridiculous Lowe is doing what anyother chairman apart from that well known former successful chairman L Crouch would do. What he is doing is not popular but has to be done so that we can rebuild for the futures -
Yes I agree with your second post Moaning does very little except making fans more depressed than they already are. The club is in a bad situation because of the excessive wages paid to very average players in the past. It appears to me that Lowe's plan is the only way forward build a new team with good young players paying realistic wages. It might not be successful for some time and there is no real reason for fans to be abusive to the board players and coaching staff as it does not help in the development of the team.

Best goal seen live against saints at SMS/The Dell
John B replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I saw Alan Curtis score a goal for Leeds at the Dell where he beat loads of defenders . He then played for us but never was that good -
Because he may not agree with your sensible view
-
I agree with you Ryan Smith seems to be surplus to requirements
-
David Burnside at the Dell in 1963 to make it 3 3 after being 3 0 down Any of today's team would probably have panicked and smashed it over the bar
