  1. Thats not the point though is it we are not debating whether his clearance came through or not Would you think it would be sensible to play him if it cost £150000
  2. No I dont remember that incident but I do remember a game at the Dell v Swansea where three of there players were injured at the same time after tussles with George. Gallagher our trainer had to assist one of them
  3. They may feel that we have a better chance of winning and results may improve but I agree no one would pay to see Saga except possibly Polish fans
  4. Whoops should have said I would pay £150000 for Saga to play if I was Lowe Lost Concentration there with receiving a phone call Seems a risk well worth taking in the present situation may also get bigger gates an extra 1000 per game would probably cover it and we would have to pay a loanee if we do not pay Saga
  5. I dont think either is right. But if according to the press both Collingwood and Vaughan had similar reservations Moores may not be the best person. The Sturrock situation is slightly different in that Sturrock may have wanted to go himself but the crazy decision to appoint Wigley as coach without someone with experience like Gorman or Jim Smith to help still beggars belief
  6. SAINTS have to decide whether to take a financial gamble and play Marek Saganowski in crucial January fixtures according to the Echo The Polish international has returned to Southampton and resumed training with Jan Poortvliet’s squad following the end of his loan spell with Danish side Aalborg. However, due to various FIFA rulings, if he plays for Saints this month it would rule him out of a move abroad during this transfer window and end Saints’ chances of selling him to anyone. Though he could technically still be loaned to an English Football League side it leaves Saints with a difficult decision – play him and almost certainly keep him, or leave him out to see if they can move him on before the transfer window closes and if not play him come February. It will cost Saints around £150,000 to pay Saganowski until the end of the season and I think it is a risk well worth taking Mr Lowe
  7. But why give a penalty if the decision was marginal Would Man U have scored if the ball had not hit McGoldrick
  8. What is the actual role of a referee theses days. Is it to ruin games by using the letter of the law or can they use their own initative.to allow the game to be enjoyed by the fans. Once Patterson was sent off there was unlikely to be a good game and giving a controversial penalty completely ruined it. A lot of games these days are affected by the referees errors
  9. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11177
  10. I read somewhere that Davis thought it was a penalty
  11. Yes but all those mentioned had better support from Midfield and the Wings so dont just blame the strikers Are they missing that many clear cut chances as I dont know.
  12. We also had Norman Dean Frank Saul and Brett Omerod dont forget
  13. I thought Patterson and his tackle were out of the George Kirby coaching manual. How I loved his approach
  14. I thought things were going to be alright at the End of December but if January is as bad relegation will be a formality. Hindsight is a wonerful thing but Pekhart had been scoring regularly for Spurs Reserves. Robertson was used to get rid of Dyer I agree with you on Pulis and Smith but the coaching staff obviously seem some potential in him Gasmi is for the future perhaps? Forecast was probably bought in for cover if Davis went. So there maybe some good reasons why they were brought in
  15. One reason players are loaned out is to see if they can perform at a higher level. Spurs maybe very grateful for SFC playing Pekhart Like McGoldrick Pekart scored loads of goals in the reserves.
  16. Are all managers out of their depth when their teams are not winning It is always easy to blame the manager/coach but perhaps the players are not up to Championship standard that is my thought I just dont like the trend of sacking managers after only a few months in the job. It took Ted Bates sometime to mould his team and then there was no requirement for such a large squad it does take sometime for teams to gel.
  17. Our squad on this site looks interesting too
  18. I thought the policy was to play good young players perhaps he did not fit that description. We played Cork Pearce and Robertson
  19. Yes I agree but please tell me what Lowe's replacement is going to do without the club going into administration?
  20. What I was saying that Person performed OK without much knowledge of the Championship. The main problem with JP is that he played at such a high standard and coached Dutch kids who are probably more technically gifted than ours.
  21. I would agree with your post but I think we are less than a million miles away from a good team maybe two years or so
  22. What actually do you mean knows the Championship Scholari Ranieri etc surely did not know the Premiership Keane at Sunderland did not know the Championship and I doubt whether Pearson knew the Championship or Div 1 either.
  23. Are you sure Dowie has been sacked from lots of clubs? He cant be that good
  24. OK Robbie but without out any money it is unlikely that SFC will be in the Premiership in the long run. Mixing home grown players not kids with quality signings was why SFC was successful for 25 years. Not Mixing home grown players with quality signings was why SFC was have been unsuccessful for the past 20 years. Now Mixing kids with old pros is why SFC is today unsuccessful . Without Investment which has never been forthcoming in the last 50 years we will have to wait for success until our home grown players are no longer kids
  25. Why cannot posters accept that we have no money and therefore cannot be successful.
