  1. Can't you see him - just below Lampit....... Ah, perhaps not
  2. Taylor's quote - "We've managed to get some security from the Premier League, they've been very co-operative on parachute payments, the Football League have told the owners they can't get all the money back that they put into the club originally, so they've got to take a hit." Does this actually mean that the only way Chinny will come back is if the players agree to forego their due money so he can have it all instead. That actually makes a resolution even less likely. The PFA are hardly going to convince the players to walk away so Chinny can get the cash, and he clearly doesn't want the shell of a club if the PP money goes to the players. You gotta laugh.
  3. Hands up all the clever people who chose 10th August. WTFILN http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/birch-confirms-pompey-face-august-10-liquidation-deadline-1-4089398
  4. And the distant sound of sturdy matrons pouring out the Listerine can be heard on the wind......
  5. Can a mature adult read this and let us know what it is about before we let our children read it. Are there any references to Horton Heath, exotic massage or Little Avram in it? http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/memory-stirs-avram-s-passion-1-4084173
  6. The amusing part is that 'Quality over quantity' is actually what will kill them. They escaped admin number one almost scot-free and then embarked on the same suicidal policy all over again and that is what will do for them. You gotta laugh.
  7. The thing with the players is that even though they may have earnt a fair bit, their lifestyle costs are presumably high, but someone like Halford, who is on £15-20/week give or take, is being asked to walk away from a sum of money big enough to make him secure for life. His contract, plus deferrals, adds up to £1-1.5million - who the hell would forego that to save your former employer? And having seen how the last CVA went, receiving a percentage of it it in a new CVA over four years probably doesn't fill him with confidence that he'll ever see it. He said himself he's received no offers from other clubs and if he does, he'll never get a contract near that value again, so he hasn't got much to lose, has he? For Kitson and Kanu, at the end of there careers, it's their last payday. Why the hell should they walk away from it? Mullins sounded like he wrote off a fair bit, but got a fairly juicy contract at Brum, Mokoena may have negotiated the best deal of them all - in many failing companies the first round of voluntary redundancies always get the best offer - to set an example. But those other guys ain't going anywhere without cash up front.
  8. Part of the deal to avoid a tribunal, maybe.
  9. The sum was'nominal' - maybe £20k, might be £20, but not more than what TBH will earn this week. And for one of the two players he wanted to keep.
  10. I thought it was the 'cooling-off' period before the CVA is either passed or rejected, and the trust also had that time in which to put forward any counter bid. I think Monday is quite significant, but some-one cleverer than me needs to look back on the original CVA proposal to confirm this.
  11. But Doncaster haven't reneged on £150million of debt, have they? Unbelievable.
  12. I want to start a new sweepstake - what date for the Skates next administration, when they pay 2% of the 2% of the 20% of the first one. The analogy some-one posted about giving an alcoholic a new liver and he immediately goes out on the lash is a good one. They are mental on that island and anyone who moves in gets infected by the swamp-gas. They are so far up sh1t-creek and yet all they do is plan to outbid all their rivals AGAIN. They have to be destoyed because they are incapable of learning how to behave properly.
  13. No but it is if you want the 15th
  14. That is a truly appalling suggestion. I can only assume you have over-done it at your beer-festival or have been out in the sun too long again. I do not want my home city associated in any way with those fish-frottering failures. Give Salisbury City their place in the league by all means, but I do not want to see a 'Sarum Skates' franchise in my lifetime. I feel dirty just thinking about such an idea.
  15. I'll take an 11th August please Carol
  16. I wouldn't begrudge them their history - after all, we all need something to cling to.
  17. Is it just me or is the trip to Gibraltar something of a waste of time - almost everyone going will have left the club before the start of the season, so what is the point? I mean, couldn't Appy of taken a few of the youth squad camping in the New Forest - a minibus and a couple of tents would have done it. I suppose, though, it's a nice holiday for one or two of the triallists, I guess. Better than another week in Halifax in the rain.
  18. 1976 obviously will always be up there, but the sight of all those Saints fans at the JPT final was as good as anything. For the first time in years I really believed we were going forward & that the club was reunited.
  19. Monday 23rd is, I believe D-day for the 28-day cooling off period for the CVA. Presumably at that moment Chinny has to say whether he is in or out & the PST have to put up or shut up. And if Chinny is out, that gives the PST two weeks to sort out everything before golden share day. An interesting few weeks ahead.
  20. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/non-league-football/hawk-ryan-relishing-pompey-reunion-1-4057157 Do you think 'Special' Neil made this bit up.....? ‘I was there at the club for the rest of the season and would train with the first team. ‘All of them, apart from Tal Ben Haim, were brilliant. People like Liam Lawrence and Hayden Mullins would pull me aside to give advice, which was really appreciated.
  21. I always liked Scott Hiley - a good example of determination overcoming limited ability, and a specialist at clearing hte ball off his own line.
  22. It's almost like that was added on just in case they squirmed their way out of the other clauses.
  23. Of the two, this lad impressed me and Zaha looked like a clueless version of Dyer when we played them at Xmas. Potentially a good signing
  24. Another dire article from the Skate Pravda, with one little comment that made me laugh http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/comment-league-act-but-where-were-they-before-for-pompey-1-4052176 Coach10:06 AM on 13/07/2012 This article should serve as a "beacon of light" to all wanna be journalists........never give up hope. If neil can, anyone can. Pathetic Mr allen.
