Trouble is, we have a habit of psyching ourselves out of games like that being unable to capitalize on our chances and ending up with 0-0, 1-1 or the unthinkable sucker-punch 0-1.
Hopefully we thrash someone soon and get the shot in the arm to get us that all too elusive confidence.
We’ll huff and puff and swing in crosses to no-one. We’ll get yellow cards. We’ll miss easy chances that somehow drop for us. We’ll lose from an uncontested header late on. We’ll hobble on to the next, rinse and repeat.
Didn’t see anything today that we have any character to actually win another game this year. No leaders. Anybody see the older players or captain gee up the team or the younger players. Nope, just a shrug and wait until we kick off again.
Obviously not but they are playing Chelsea, another of the title contenders that regularly dispatches of **** like Saints. We can only dream of somehow taking a point off a top 6 team.
Palace showing us how to hang around and show some fight. 1-1 vs Chelsea so far. Chelsea the lion’s share of possession but Palace keeping shape and fighting hard.

Looked like a pub team. Embarrassing to hear the pundits on both Canadian channels here shaking their heads and commenting just how lacklustre and devoid of ideas we have become.
The 6-1 doesn’t worry me.
The lack of fitness does.
The lack of fight does.
The feeling that we won’t just snap out of this rut any time soon does.
The lack of ideas, shape, creativity, guile, pace, finishing does.
