This one is on Rogers sportsnet world, PVR is set just in case I sleep in, and so I can rewatch it so I can be a superfan like Dune and those other ones who's names escape me right now!!!

I heard those rumours too. But for him, if it is true, maybe the thought of being disowned by his family and friends on top of having the press camped (scuse the pun) outside his house 24/7 digging up more and more muck on him, the whole time he is trying to manage Wales and explain things to his family was too much for him to bear.

For some reason I have just reminded myself of the teamtalk Saints page and the "discussion" forum there. Did anybody here post on that back in the day (late 90s, early 00s). I think the admin for saints was a guy called Andy Penders? He would add a nugget of his own wisdom to your post if he felt fit. Does Andy (?) post on here now?? If you submitted a post it would often take a day or two to appear on the page so you couldn't really get a discussion going but it was better than nothing.

That Kenny Monkou one really got my goat. We were all over them and he scored in the last minute, nowhere near a single West Ham player and Rennie waved it away. Pathetic refereeing, considering the amount of last minute goals we shipped in those days, we finally get to cheer one, and for no reason it gets called off. Funny thing is, that a few weeks later I was in South Shields watching the finish of the Great North Run and who should be running into the finish straight but Rennie himself, gave him a right piece of my mind, you should have seen the look on his face!

Hockey is a very simple sport. Icing - you are not allowed to send the puck the length of the ice, if it is shot from behind the center (red) line and is touched by an opposing player behind the goal line then play will be started right back in the defensive zone. An exception is when a team is on the penalty kill (have a man serving a penalty). Offside - the puck must enter the offensive zone (blue line) ahead of any attacking players (skaters), if the puck is moved out of the offensive zone and there are attacking players still in there, they must leave the zone before the puck can be taken/passed back into the zone. Fighting is allowed and encouraged. Penalties are called for various things, tripping, slashing (not ****ing, hitting someone with a stick), cross checking (knocking someone over by pushing them with a stick), high stick in the face, puck over the glass (not allowed to just clear the puck over the glass to ease the pressure), kneeing, slew footing (tripping with a skate), interference. Most penalties last 2 minutes, whereby the infracting player must sit out (in the "box") the duration leaving his team "short-handed". Any goals scored during this time for the team with the extra player are called "power play goals", if the team with fewer players scores (it happens) it is called a shorthanded goal. Have a great time, Leafs vs Bruins is a divisional game and they are both "original 6" teams so it will be pretty intense. I am jealous, I will have to get out to an Ottawa game soon.

Unfortunately baseball is done for the year, and basketball locked out. Maple Leafs would be pricey. As Hammie says above CN tower etc is good. If you like wine, Niagara region is amazing and there are ice wines etc. that might be new to you. Have a great time. Just an FYI though, Toronto isn't a city that is representative of Canada as a whole, were a lot more laid back and friendly than you'll find in hogtown...

That's quite the talent you have for running are/were you part of a running club. I did an 8km race in just under 36 minutes yesterday, came 11th but there always those club runners who finish miles ahead of the mid-packers like me. It's amazing to see.
