  1. Nonsense. Playing the kids under a puppet manager ala Wigley/Gray is not a necessity, it's Lowes masterplan. We could just have easily kept Pearson, trimmed the squad and let him bring in players (of a prime age) from the lower leagues. This is what every other club does that is below us in both the football league and non league, but of course Lowe knows better than everyone else.
  2. Sacking Sturrock, replacing him withWigley and bringing in Redknapp too late led us to where we are and Lowe's air-brained appointment of Portvliet and playing kids will lead us to League 1. The reason we're in the sh1t is because Lowe is clueless when it comes to football.
  3. SLH PLC expects to release its audited accounts in October. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=10348
  4. Please post up these infamous minutes for those of us who are not ITK.
  5. What a typical post from a Lowe Luvvie. In case it slipped your mind it was Wilde who appointed the Execs and it was Crouch who got rid of them. 6 months Crouch was in charge and yet you lot blame him for everything.
  6. It's pure Lowe spin that we are "playing the kids" because we have to. This crack-pot idea is nothing more than Lowe thinking he knows best. What about all the clubs below us in the football league and in non league football - they don't put all their eggs in one basket and play a youth team. There's no reason why Nigel Perason could not have stayed. Certainly there is no financial reason.

    Hypocrites

The Lowe Luvvies will use all the tricks in the book to defend Lowe.
  8. But surely the £7mil spent by Wilde would have been spent by Lowe too? Don't you remember Lowe talking of the fabled "War Chest"? I put it to you that the fans were behind (even demanded) this outlay because Lowe led us to believe we could afford it.

And the last time we had 3 managers in one season we went down.

    Hypocrites

Pearson was breath of fresh air who turned round a thoroughly de-motivated and depressed Burley hangover of a squad.
  11. No connection apart from being a tax payer. I 'm just making the point that it wasn't the police that spoilt the day, it was the feal louts intent on disorder. The police merely did their job proprtionately to the perceived threat.
  12. Agreed. The Saints Trust, with it's current attitude, will surely be Mike Wildes next target as part of his strategy of using fans. That said i sense a split between the all knowing Nick Illingsworth and a ST board member called robin Howard (i wonder if he posts here?). If you read the Saints Trusts articles it's almost as if it's pulling in different directions.
  13. I'm apalled that we are threatened by al queda in our our country, but until the "moderate" muslims and their mullahs make a stand the threat will continue to exist. It's the same with these chavvy hooligan types. The police were doing what they were doing to protect the general public. The majority were penalised because of the minority. It's not right and it's not fair, but ultimtely the responsibility lies with the majority to ensure the minority are driven from the game.
  14. Call me sad, but i've actually found Ruperts farm on google earth. Nice swimming pool and tennis court.
  15. If there's going to be a protest there is a SKY game coming up against Bristol City.
  16. Declining the SISU offer doesn't sit well with this comment IMO. Mike Wilde said "The quality and nature of any investment is as important, in my view, as the quantum." So presumably he thinks that him and Lowe are better than SISU would have been.
  17. Coventry - they've got the beating of us. Preston - we may stick 11 behind the ball and kelvin might scrape us a 0-0. Bristol City - as it's at home we may nick a point, but i doubt it. Wolves - they'll beat us easily. Reading - they'll embarrass us easily. Therefore 1 point if we're lucky.
  18. Rubbish. The police wouldn't have gone to such huge expense without intelligence.
  19. Agreed, and for that reason i can't see Leon ever working with Wilde again.
  20. So the police did a good job.
  21. Perhaps we need to fully understand Wildes exit to understand his actions. What were the circumstances surrounding Wildes exit first time around?
  22. At the start of the season, and as part of Mike Wildes PR camapign, he agreed with the Daily Echo to take part in an "Ask The Chairman" exercise. One of the questions was: Q: I would like to know where the £2m you promised to invest into the club is? Stuart Chadler And here is Mike Wildes reply: A: It is correct that in early 2006 I discussed with the Board the possibility of making an interest free loan to Southampton Leisure Holdings PLC. This loan was offered subject to two conditions. Firstly, that in the event of a subsequent Rights Issue this money would become repayable making it available for the purchase of new shares in the Company, and secondly, that the funds should be ring fenced and used only for squad strengthening in the event of the Club failing to secure promotion to the Premiership at the end of the 2006/7 season. Certain members of the Board rejected these conditions and shortly afterwards I resigned my position as Chairman of Southampton Football Club and as a Director of Southampton Leisure Holdings PLC. Despite this loan offer, my position has always been that we need to find a comprehensive funding solution that guarantees the club’s long-term stability and security. Unfortunately, I believe that the piecemeal investment of the kind proposed at that time, would not in any way have helped the club to achieve this objective. So why isn't Wilde honouring his commitment now he's part of a "friendly" board? Surely there would be no objection now.
  23. As the following link shows the ST is merely a mouthpiece for Nick Illingsworth. http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.showNews.php?id=15152 As the largest body of Saints supporters, it can be said that the Saints Trust has a membership with a broad range of opinions. It is, of course, true that those opinions vary from supporter to supporter; however, the one thing that all have in common is that they all want the best for Southampton Football Club. That, of course, can be also said for every man, woman and child that has followed the Club; however, perhaps another thing that they all have in common is that most Saints supporters haven’t quite grasped the severity of the situation that the Club finds itself in nor how vital the fans are in this situation. It is with this in mind that the Saints Trust issues a heartfelt plea to everyone who considers themselves a supporter of Southampton Football Club. This is not condoning or condemning Rupert Lowe or indeed any Board member past or presen. The Trust represents its members' views and supports the Club not individuals; it wants to unite supporters not divide them into separate camps. At this moment in time, the Club finds itself in a position that doesn’t offer it much choice and, for this reason, we have to be united behind the Club not engaging in political infighting. As supporters we have to put the past behind us; we must of course never forget it but, and it’s a big BUT, we cannot change the past, we can only change the future. At the moment, that future doesn’t look too bright; attendances are slipping drastically at St Mary’s and the truth is that, whilst the average gate remains below the break even figure of 17,000, the club’s debt increases and, with every increase, it brings the inevitability that players will have to be sold in the January transfer window which, in turn, is a step closer to relegation. So much for democracy eh? "we HAVE TO BE united behind the club" says Nick. That means united behind Lowe and Wilde as the club encompasses all elements - players, coaches, management, directors. So Nick, and therefore the ST, does not represent the views of those oposed to Lowe and Wilde who want action.
  24. Your post is irrelevent because we are going into administration like it or not. Any idiot can work out that a business that loses money year on year will at some point go under. With Saints the only doubt is when will it happen.
  25. If you want Lowe and Wilde out there's no point in protesting. Lowe and Wilde know they are not liked and basically don't give a damn. BOYCOTTING IS THE ANSWER Give Lowe and Wilde gates sub 15,000 consistently and their shares will become worthless as the club goes into admin. At this point Norwich and Union and Barclays become the main creditors - NO CHANCE OF LOWE DOING A KEN BATES AND BUYING US ON THE CHEAP - and we get a new owner(s). I have a sneaky feeling we've not heard the last of Leon Crouch...
