After a period of being frozen out by the club they've evidently reached a mutual understanding with the Lowe regime - Lowe gives them access to the club if they print a favourable spin, but will it last? Can it last? The Echo will eventually have to decide whether to represent the views of the Lowe regime or the views of their readers.

How long until the first Lowe Out chant starts tomorrow?

An adaptation of "a puppet on a string" would be apt. -

I think it would be beneficial to the cause to sing a few songs to "u-turn" Mike. Lowe revels in the attention, but as yet Wilde is untested. I really do think that Wilde won't be able to handle such a public display against him and therefore this weakness needs exploiting. -
You've got to have a cheek to get on in this world.

Do they count Season Tickets holders at attenders regardless of whether they go or not? If they don't, i predict 12,500. If they rig it to include all ST holders 14,200.

Even an uncle of mine (in his late 80's) reckons Lowe "is bad news for the Saints". The thinly spread Lowe supporters on the internet like to portray us a divided club when in fact only a miniscule minority support Lowe. Lowe even had to get a PR firm to post on his behalf on S4E! -
I'll be honest and say i didn't plan to go to many home games this season (due to distance and cost), but i would have done half a dozen or so. With Lowe and Wilde at the club i won't be attending a single home game.

How's Howard?

I think you're right. Saints fans have had enough and instead of showing any passion are more likely just to stop attending matches. That said if and when a Lowe/Wilde Out campaign does get going i'll make a point of going to give my support to it. Until such time i'll continue to boycott. -
The second leg wasn't on TV. I know this because i listened to it on the radio and would have watched it if it was on TV.

Ha Ha, i thought Wilde resigned. Sacked by the people he employed. You couldn't make it up.

He'd still have Sundance Beast though. Germany Calling, Germany Calling... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=quyBOAAy8Y8

The reason the rabid pack of Lowe Luvvies despise Rich Chorley so much is because they know what a threat he is to their master. The time is fast approaching when he peasants revolt and Rich Chorley certainly has ability at rabble rousing outside reception.

Mike has achieved so many thing during his time at Southampton but for me the inspired appointments of Jim Hone, Ken Dulieu, Andy Oldknow and Lee Hoos have to be Wildes finest hour.
-
I seem to recall mention of a similar telephone conversation with a certain Keith Legg. Richard Chorley could also give an insight if memory serves me right. "Breeding" rings a bell for some reason.

Paul Sturrock had as much chance of keeping his job as Nigel Pearson did. Lowe was over ruled on appointing Hoddle so revenge was only a matter of time. Likewise he couldn't tolerate Pearson who was chosen by Leon Crouch.

'I've made it quite clear our club is run by the board, not the media. 'Our fans have to have trust in the board and we have a policy of not commenting on individuals, it is not fair on them. 'We run our club the way we think is best and that's good enough for us. 'All managers are judged on results - that's a fact of football - but our club has come a long way and is one of the best run in the country. 'There seem to be people keen to denigrate what we have achieved but we will stick together and move forward. 'As far as we are concerned, Paul Sturrock is our manager - he's running the club and we don't feel the need to comment on idle speculation.' 48 hours later Sturrock left "by mutual consent" () and Lowe said: "When this pressure is compounded by a constant stream of negative and unfair media coverage, which has taken on a life of its own recently, the position becomes untenable. "Those people responsible for perpetrating this unsatisfactory situation, often in return for financial reward, should take a long hard look at themselves." So in 48 hours the club goes from NOT BEING RUN by the media to BEING RUN by the media. ROFL.

"The shields are up and the Klingons are shooting at us and every time they land a punch they are sapping our power. "Of course we will listen to what the supporters have to say, but at the end of the day they support the club but they don't run it." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "It [money] is a bit like a drug - if you become reliant on it and someone takes it away, can you survive? For us, because we're a provincial club we have to rely on good management. Supporters now accept that fact. There's always the lunatic fringe who keep saying, 'Spend, spend, spend' and [think] that spending equals ambition, but I think most of our supporters are pleased that relative to other clubs we're in a good position."

Tim Nice But Dim to play Lowe
-
I'd love to see what hapened if Lowe said that to Leon Crouch.
-
I'd call the %age drop in attendance between last season and this a mass boycott. Crowds of around 14,000 are not going to sustain the club for long and Lowe knows it.

Thanks Morpheus, the matrix will soon be broken.

It wasn't a democratically formed group, but they never claimed it was. Many of us had misgivings, and said so prior to the meeting, and to this end the delegates gave assurances it would be minuted. They failed to honour their word and that is why it failed. Many of us felt that if it wasn't minuted Wilde would try to USE them. Wilde told Andrew Cowen that the delegates wanted him back as chairman which the delegates denied ever saying it. If the meeting had been minuted, as was agreed, would such a sitution have arisen?
-
Sadly the SOS committee went back on their word prior to the meeting with Wilde. Before the meeting they said they would insist that the meeting would be minuted and reported back on TSF. When they got in the meeting Wilde insisted this didn't happen and the SOS delegates disregarded their commitment to fans. If they are prepared to flout a fundamental commitment at the drop of a hat they are not worthy of speaking for fans.
