However 6 million £ has been obtained in outgoing transfers and ST sales so far, we can't be looking at players in the mega-million bracket so the fact that we have spent nothing at all although it is quite clear that we need 2 or 3 players is somewhat worrying,I know the man has saved the club but there is now a return and as we've cut our salarial mass by quite a bit already I would have thought that funds would have been made available by now to bolster the squad where it is distinctly lacking. You don't need a crystal ball or 6 weeks in the job to know that Lancashire and Perry ain't up to the job in hand and that Thomas is a glass fairy who only looks good on a shelf.

But he does need to rush out and obtain 2 centre backs. That's our problem, fix that and we'll have a decent side,hope McLaggon will soon be back, he'll tear league 1 apart but that will do no good if we've got Perry and Lancashire conceeding by the shedload at the other end.

No need for drastic measures like that, sacking the board will do the trick. Who's on it anyway?

Well it's not at all surprising is it? I am really concerned that just a week away from the start of the 2009/10 campaign we have, realistically,just Perry and Lancashire at CB, neither should be in the first team on a permanent basis.Obviously we can't rely on Thomas playing even half of this season's 50 or so matches so the problem needs sorting out, today if possible. I expect us o get tonked by QPR with that central pairing,our preseason has been disasterous ,apart from the Hearts win and Aberdeen showed us jut how bad Scottish football is mid week.We are at the start of a brand new era but teamwise it's same old same old.

I suspect that ML knew very well that Pinnacle was all bullsh*t and no money and that he cotinued with his plans throughout. I could see it and I'm sure that those acting for ML could as well.

We'd need 90+ points, say 93, that's 31 wins, if we could get that many we could get beaten 15 times.However 31 wins is a lot, 28 wins,9 draws and 9 defeats would be my route-map for a 93 point finish.

Perry is handy enough on his day but he's going on 37 and that's far too old for a bloke who's 3 inches shorter than the average centre back ,you can't rely on positioning and experience against blokes who could give Usain Bolt 10 yards and still beat him,nor bloke with a vertical bond of nigh on a meter from a standing start..
