  1. On 44 points from 33 games? Not really very likely, would have to be a massive free-fall not to get another 10 points from their remaining 13 games. Forest Norwich Charlton is how I see it.
  2. Oh no it isn't, the average wage in the championship last year was £197K/annum, ie less than 4K/week. Believe me 10K players are the exception and not the rule. You just cannot support that sort of pay and the nigh on 13% NHS charges on top of it on 20/21K gates even. With the League discussing a 60% cap on our current revenue we'd be allowed a budget of about 8 million for salaries (players and coaches). That would mean an average of about 4K across the board, so if that cap ever comes into being you can wave goodbye to your 10K lads. Rupert doesn't believe in the cap but he believes a 60% ceiling is about right.
  3. Still it is strange. Seeing as we aren't flush with cash that we're making concessions like this. For Charlton we need to increase attendance by 4/5 K to make up for the deficit. For Derby if the ST holders start buying tickets for everyone that asks the club will lose a whole bunch of money;Still I suppose that stops Derby fans getting cheap tickets though.
  4. At least we haven't got Tubby Morton in goal though. Typical CCC centre forward
  5. Au fait, how did the rose protest go then?
  6. And yet there are no offers for QPR, why is that then, tit for tat for their £30 minimum price perhaps.
  7. Can't see him leaving Rennes just now, plays every match for them. There must be some other reason for him being in town (or at the airport)
  8. I wondered if maybe Wotte didn't want the first team head coach job with only a team of youngsters on offer.Perhaps he didn't really fancy all the hassle with Euell,Saga,Rasiak,John,Rudi etc knowing that he couldn't keep them. We all blame Lowe for appointing Jan instead of Wotte who seems a bit more apt but perhaps it was the other way round. Perhaps Wotte needed a job but just didn't fancy all the hassle for very little money.
  9. strange though tht QPR isn't included. I presume they're counting on QPR bringing a couple of thousand and don't want to lose that revenue just now; However by promoting these 3 "special offers" just now it may be a question of getting enough cash in to hold out until we can sell STs in april (or whenever). Perhaps Wotte has asked for a couple of big crowds to get behind the lads.
  10. You can't have March Madness whilst there's still a chance of April Administration. They can't sell tickets until we see if we're going to pull clear of relegation and ipso facto administration.
  11. and so it will remain as long as Norwich carry on being the crap that they can hardly avoid being and we gain at least as many points as Forest. That leaves us at worst needing to beat them on the last day. As I see it we need to beat QPR,Blackpool,Derby,Charlton,Palace and Burnley and the rest will take care of itself.Only Blackpool of those is away and it should be well within our scope.
  12. I think you are totally wrong about Norwich, they're going down. Gunn was an awful appointment and they've got something like 9 points out of their last 12 games or so.They have a really hard run in and are logical relegation favourites. I can't see them getting more than 10 more points this season (if that)
  13. I see a lot of comparison of attendances in the previous posts. I think though that what must be analysed is the revenue that those attendances actually produced. Last season's "matchday revenue" was just7.9 million £. Obviously I've no idea whatsoever what makes that up but if you look at on a white/black spectrum it means that the average bum on a seat paid about £14 for the privilege. Whether there were a lot of freebies and promotional prices just couldn't say.
  14. We have plenty of reasons to be hopeful actually. Charlton are gone, Norwich are as good as gone because they made a crassly stupid managerial appointment so we have just one place to go. We have as good a chance as Forest,Barnsley,Plymouth or Blackpool. As long as we keep on playing as we have for the last 2 weeks we might just make it.I mean look at the side we're putting out now, is that a relegation side?...no it isn't.
  15. nobody is jinxed,it's just that the style of play has changed and we're actually scoring some goals.
  16. Like you can count on Reading nowadays.
  17. Oh not for ages yet, it's against Watford . 7th April then
  18. I still see Blackpool falling into the mix if we can beat them there. I think they have to play all of the relegation candidates apart from Charlton. If the others pick up points against them they'll be down there scrapping.
  19. David Luker said it was 17K, don't know whether that's right though. Perhaps 22K was with Rasiak,Dyer and John eh.
  20. We are masters of our own destiny already. we have to beat Forest on the last day and get a point from our game in hand. Other than that we just need to match Forest and Norwich for the rest of the season.
  21. Pity the "top sides" couldn't do us a favour though.
  22. Don't be such a bunch of big girls' blouses. Saints have always been like this.
  23. It's very boring apparently.... and costly
  24. Does that waste time ?
