Might be a real goer, some of them are you know. I might drink the LBW though.

17000 is the figure Stanley, David Luker said so in an interview with Nick I. Don't forget we get about 70K for home televised Sky matches, had 2 of those already. Yesterday's win will probably put us over the break even figure again on Tuesday.

Perhaps there's a reason that we haven't found out about yet. Seems a bit much really but there could be symbolism involved I suppose. Accounts might be out tomorrow, we'll have to look at the "cost of sales other than salary mass".Could tell us a lot.

Saints Greatest XI - Nominations For Best LB.

Correct, so fast that he made greyhounds look like donkeys, probably harder in the tackle than Pyscho as well,but it was usually pretty clean. A great loss, now he is consigned to the memories of very very few. -
Perhaps I did

Perhaps the ancient incumbent in the hole role wasn't in fact suited to the job, as I may have mentioned on occasions.
-
And yet some still insist that we were playing 4-4-2, makes you wonder really doesn't it. As I have stated many many times, you should barely notice the difference if the 'hole' role is correctly performed. think I likened it to a 2 man kaleidoscope on one occasion.

If we could get 3 on Tuesday (and I say if) we could get above Blackpool,Barnsley and Sheff W depending on their results.. -

According to some who went to the game we weren't at 4-4-2, just the usual 4-2-2-1-1 working correctly. Still if merrington said so....but he also said we were to be taken over once, or even several times.. -
But Stern didn't. 70th minute sub in a drubbing by Palarse;

As are we all, but there has to be patience whilst the bad financial situation caused by overpaying players to underachieve is dealt with. I don't know just how patient you need to be in your everyday life but it is a virtue and sometimes a dire necessity. We were warned, we aren't adrift and have an excellent chance of staying in the CCC this season and moving forward next. -
Let me explain this to you one last time Alpine. Our gate has dropped by about 4500 or so,TV revenue is about 70K a game on Sky (x2 for us). The average ticket income from non-ST sales is about 18£ to the club, the rest is VAT. We lose 1.86 million on gate revenue less TV income. Getting rid of the over paid players will save us somewhere in the region of £5 million over the season. So the gate downturn is largely negated by the salary mass reduction. It was necessary,the results are so so,but as long as we don't get relegated before we profit from the new income stream next season ,the result justifies the means. We must accept this and take solace from results like today's, these lads can play,we know that, they will get bullied from time to time but at the end of the season the club will survive and we'll have occasional flashes of great football;

Correct, Mike Wilde said there would be ups and downs. If he'd have said downs and ups, well, he'd have been spot on. Too many people ignored that message and only remember the premiership glory days. We have always been inconsistent, if you'd seen us in Div 3 South you'd know better then go in for wrist slitting because we lose a few games.

You sure it was 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 being properly worked, should hardly notice the difference when the two front men are interchanging. -

But it's not just Alpine Saint is it? Some of us kept the faith . -
God doesn't do football, try the "old gods".

Perhaps that's why we appear so broke compared to many other clubs; We actually pay our bills and rack up an overdraft, easy overdraft not paying the tax man, they're usually quite patient and far less cumbersome than yer average bank executive. I mean take say Norwich's season ticket sales (no innuendo, it's just for the numbers) 20,000 STs at an average of say 420£= 8.4 million. Tax element of that; about 1.47 million. Player salaries, 150K a week, NHS and PAYE element of that about 35K or so I'd say, if you don't pay up on time it sure does boost your cashflow without begging the bank.
-
Sunderland wouldn't take Jones for 6 million if we didn't; It was a poisoned deal; They gave us 6 million in 3 instalments and we took Sterns annual salary of 750K off their hands . KJ would have been on about 3K a week in those days, bad bad bad deal;

Was that the one where he outjumped the scottish keeper in a big bunch of players ? Managed to get his head above the keepers outstretched arms.

Good to see that old footage again, wasn't the football woefully slow in those days, you could go for a pint and a **** and 7 times out of ten nothing happened. Mc Grath would have been sent of for his "last man" hauling back of the United player nowadays. No physical contact whatsoever most of the time, just stroking the ball about with the defenders standing off.

It's not something that he should be learning at over 20 though is it. Burley didn't rate him it would seem, I could understand the reason why.

He's scored 1 league goal so far (well I think so anyway). If he had 6, well yes he'd nearly be on a par with McG, but then he's playing a striking role isn't he. Our problem is lack of goals,we're playing 4-4-1-1, the forward striker and the deep striker should be interchanging and equally potent, they aren't because Lallana can't shoot. McG gets doubleteamed so he drifts wide to try to get space to work in.
