So do I. Surman, Schneiderlin,Davis, McGoldrick; The rest can go or stay as long as we get at least like for like replacements or maybe just a but better.
-
Are we better off than when Crouch was here?
Window Cleaner replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
Because he paid off a lot of debts. -
Sounds like it's all over bar the shouting then. Didn't mention why he watched Arsenal-Man U did he, or about being injured or sick.
-
Gobern probably wouldn't have started if Morgan was fit, but seemingly he wasn't.Same problem as the others perhaps, or a big birthday binge, never know with us do you.

U+A, they just won't understand until the accounts are published. Can't think what's holding them up,unless they're incredibly difficult to unravel with "expense accounts" and that sort of thing . I mean it's not as if the current team have much to do with whatever the accounts might show. unless of course there's some trouble brewing up for the AGM but there again i would have thought the longer it has to brew the worse it may get.

Too fragile to take the hits up front nowadays, I'm afraid Start him in the hole, unless Gasmi is fit enough of course. Can't be any less efficient than the current incumbent- who can go and dazzle us with his trickery out on the right wing and leave the serious business of scoring goals to real men.

Well said Rich, won't make them understand of course but at least I feel less alone in the fray. I don't like Lowe, but I can see that what's being done is necessary. I don't like going to the dentist either but sometimes it's necessary in the long run.

I bet we're about the only club in the land who's income was entirely spent before we paid a single player a single pound though. When you think about this and it's consequences, you will have grasped the truely catastrophic situation in which we found ourselves and understand why things are as they are. Understanding this simple fact is the key, until you do ,well then you'll carry on moaning about loans and not having "stars" and big name managers.

Signings since the summer - how have they done?
Window Cleaner replied to ExSt Peter Saint's topic in The Saints
Perry has been off sick, so has Robertson, they we're really quite ill apparently. -
The niggles probably have something to do with the intensity of CCC football. MS had very little first team experience before he came here, in fact I think he played more games fro France U19s than he did for Strasbourg. Hope the other lads haven't been leading him astray in nightclubs and what have you. That always worries me with SFC, we haven't exactly got the best record on the clubbing and drinking front. I know someone who knows someone who knows MS, I'll see if I can get an update for you.

It would seem to me that having Schneiderlin in front of the defence takes a lot of the pressure off of it. He's a composed lad who can make time and space and change the pace of the game when necessary.Partnered with Surman in the defence midfield roles it makes a lot of difference.

Ah no, don't think we've paid any more than 500K as yet. It is "rising to 1.5 million Euros", not 1.5 million Euros
-
They also get 93000 for a game of college "football" how crazy is that. I think the tickets cost about 25 dollars for ordinary games and can go up to 500 or so for "bowl" games.

That's a difficult one to answer; It could well be that they wanted to see how he looked in UK football without the constraints of a long term contract with themselves. Morgan wanted first team football, we were prepared to give it to him despite his young age. He might not have got so much action at Arsenal. It could well be that they are now willing to listen to Barcelona over Fabregas, they probably have someone in mind to replace him (Belgian kid ,Witzer or something like that) and have a mind to take on Morgan as well to share the role .

because, as their opponents on this forum delight in pointing out, they aren't that rich. I am sure that they would like for nothing better than some mega rich wallah with tons of swans to step in and take the club off their hands. Trouble is there doesn't seem to be a plethora of candidates who actually have the necessary folding t their disposal. There are pretenders it's true but it would seem that Barclay's,the Shareholders and Aviva aren't convinced by their posturing and pea****ing;

Must have been too many G I Olgas in the crew then.:mad:

Dyer is getting a few sub runs on with Sheff Utd, haven't a clue how well he's doing.
-
they weren't sold because no-one wants to buy them. As long as there are Premiership and CCC clubs with plethoric squads and wages bills around there will always be players available on loan without buying them. These guys earn far more than their salary grade, the won't take a cut so we have to take whatever option we can to get them off the pay-roll,albeit temporarily.
-
No neither do I. The dispensation only usually applies to UEFA B badge holders who haven't giot round to doing their A yet. You can't have a tyro coaching certificate and promise you'll do the others later.:cool: Shearer has at least the B badge.

Not really, unless it's agreed as such in the loan agreement. Now Rasiak, can't possibly be like that, they paid him for 2 months whn he was injured and we recall him now-right not on; Saga will be back in January don't doubt it and John has only just left, don't think there was a recall proviso either. He may be back in January, depends if he's valuee for money or if the can see paying him for longer and dobbing us a few quid.

Used to take them for France U19's, all of them, a foot off the ground, 6 inches inside either post. Clinical, doesn't miss penalties does our Morgan. Strange that he didn't play on Saturday, it was his birthday, perhaps he had the day off.
-
aha now we're talking, should have given him a stab when Burley left, couldn't have been any worse than Gorman and Dodd, probably cheaper and Salisbury?-well he could run that part time in the evening couldn't he. Missed opportunity there.

Great player, long career. wouldn't last 5 minutes in modern football, insufficient work ethic,no place for artists like him nowadays.I think many of you have illusions about the actual ability of some of the old stars. Now I'll be going against the grain as usual here but I doubt that many of our beloved Saints heroes would even get a game in our side (weak as it is) now. They wouldn't b fit enough and by today's standards their ball skills would be woefully insufficient; Many of you do not remember the late 50's and 60's. Paine was a good player but the modern full back would see right through his old fashioned trickery, Sydenham was fast, very fast but he wasn't a great crosser of the ball. If England caps were given for speed down the left wing,he'd have hat a hatful, unfortunately his final ball was often poor.

And does MLT have the necessary qualifications ? It's not like it was in the old days, now you have to be qualified to manage or coach professional sides. As far as I know MLT has never taken the time to obtain the UEFA coaching badges UEFA B or UEFA A

Avoiding relegation is our only concern this season, we just about did it last season with a player/coach salary mass amounting to just over 12million. If we can do the same this season for only 6.5 million well all those involved will have done a f**king fantastic job. Unfortunately the quality of the football will be at best inconsistent and at worst what the french call "minable". Trouble is when January comes, Morgan and Surman will probably be moving on and that's the heart of our midfield. In fact those are the only 2 players, along with davis, that we really need to keep. All the rest can go and we won't even notice the difference.Still Saga will be coming back, maybe John as well, the fans will be pleased.
