  1. I'm not sure that it was an official rubbish tip rthough. I certainly remember it before the work started, used to play there as a small child, I think it was just muddy waste ground with a lot of crap dumped there. At the time that I first remember it only Bitterne Park Rec the original part existed. Used to play football and rounders there went I went to BP Juniors and Infants. The left and right extensions were added on at some time in the 60s after we moved to West End.
  2. Still haven't worked out what happened with their first goal.
  3. Possesion perhaps but no end product on the horizon. They move the ball about a lot but I don't think you get any points for that. 1-0 should see us win because Chelsea don't look like scoring really.
  4. Bought some decent players and then hired 2 shîte managers.
  5. I expect that's got something to do with the 2/3 or so of the total surface area being dedicated to Agriculture and stuff though. Take away the wet areas which are uninhabitable and the ever increasing forest areas and the rest is fairly compact I'd think.
  6. don't think he's had many other red cards actually, couple of suspensions for accumulated yellow cards though. Perhaps before this season Morgan and Victor shared out the iffy tackles between them and thus red cards were less likely.
  7. Liam Dawson called up for the T20 world cup in India then.
  8. No but when a ref is deciding on the spur of them moment whether to give you a yellow or a red what has come before obviously does come into the equation. Sort of that looks nasty, I've already warned the idiot twice, right no brainer he's off.
  9. For which he had already been warned both by the club and the FA. What most seem to be missing here is that Clattenberg spoke to him twice, including a gesture that obviously meant no more of that thanks. The knob carried on and got everything he deserves. He doesn't want to be here and should have been sold in January.
  10. The penalties in Rugby are far more severe aren't they. I mean bans of 10 to 15 weeks are by no means unknown .
  11. Pretty much, Clattenberg had already warned him at least twice...but he just couldn't control himself.
  12. No justification for an appeal at all. Clattenberg warned him verbally at least twice before his gung-ho up yours effort on Payet. Got everything he deserved, just a dunce on occasions.
  13. Well it kinda does because those are the rules and he's been warned about discipline already this season both by the club and the FA.,
  14. Not that tackle no but Clattenburg was obviously getting pîssed off with his constant niggly fouling so he turned an ordinary yellow into an iffy red.
  15. Yes but not when you've already been sent off twice this season, this is his 3rd red card. cEach one gets you an extra match, last time it was 4 this time it should be 5.
  16. 5 match suspension will take him away for nearly half the rest of the season though...barring a successful appeal of course.
  17. Lord John....on the corner of that short road leading to Portland St next to the Bargate. Excellent Emporium.
  18. Which kind of goes to show that if you have an all-weather goal scorer at your disposal then most other imperfections in your side are easily obscured. Leicester are showing us that this season as well, they're not that good overall but with a couple of nifty blokes in attack all of the rest becomes pretty irrelevant.
  19. There you go, no point in posting new information about the soon to start season in last season's thread.
  20. I think I read that Rabada was close to signing for...err someone else, can't remember who exactly.
  21. Hah that old nutter Poulton is still going then I see, they should ask him about Kim, probably a better story than Bob Marley actually. I was a pretty regular patron at the Coach House, my ex's cousin's band played there a bit.
  22. They all be jumping about like fleas in Shrewsbury trying to get tickets for the Utd game. Not that most of them will have ever seen a game of football before mind you.
  23. What a boring fourth round. FA Cup is rapidly becoming a Turkey Shoot for Premier League sides. What will that be in the 5th round, 11 PL sides, 4 Championship sides and Shrewsbury?
  24. Isn't that because there are several factions within one supposed religion? I'm sure that we had some of that in the middle ages.
  25. Smart goal if he meant to do that, driving it into the ground so that it lobbed over the pile of bodies.
