  1. then again perhaps not, Tino took 2 in an over and they're on the ropes now; Must be a good game to watch. even better Crane took 2 in 2 balls, their last man didn't bat...Won it. Does that leave Crane on a technical HT next time he bowls ?
  2. We're going to throw it away aren't we! This is what is so irritating about the current version of Hampshire CCC, get into great positions and then just bung them out of the window.
  3. Not looking too bad today actually, made 270 which isn't a great deal but McClaren is slicing through them and if we can prevent the big mid-innings stand we might even have a chance at a result. What a boost that would be.
  4. We'll see, most thought that we'd be relegated last season as well and then we got a few useful results.
  5. Looks like we may well lose then, can't quite understand why we're hitting 4s and 6s and then getting out for 30s and 40s. Must have decided that the 5 points for the draw are worth less than some batting practice.
  6. Got a couple of bowling points in the last qualifying overs anyway. Now for a long, drab, safe batting session...hopefully.
  7. Are we heading for a no point match for Hants? That must be a pretty rare occurence.
  8. Can't bat, can't bowl...still early days yet.
  9. Excellent all round today.
  10. Well we won the toss today and elected to bat...just look where it's gotten us. In fact the less choice we have the better it will probably be.
  11. Why exactly would you need both ? Surely one falls into the set of the other.
  12. Doubt that they'll give us a target as low as 250 myself.
  13. Looks like you may need your thermal winter gear..
  14. Hmmm Edwards didn't bat and hasn't opened the bowling. Does that mean he has some sort of injury problem?
  15. 39 overs left today at the time of posting. Not sure that we could reasonably expect to last that long but with Wheater and Ervine dug in it's a possibility. Yorkshire made it impossible for us to win anyway so taking the 5 points for the draw would be a real bonus.
  16. But City would have to finsih outside of the CL place for that scenario to make any difference really. The only team that this would effect in the case of City winning the CL and Liverpool winning the EL would be Utd if they eventually overtake City and finish 4th because they sure as hell won't catch Arsenal.
  17. Often the way with Hampshire unfortunately. I've noticed that there nearly always seems to be a big 4th/5th/6th wicket stand against us after we've gotten into the top order a bit.
  18. Not a bad start for Hants though. Taken 3 wickets and Yorkshire are at just 2 runs an over. No doubt they'll find a big middle order partnership but Hants have pinned them down so far.
  19. Still with some more sensible batting from Dawson and Ervine we should see out the afternoon and get the draw. Vince really needs to learn the difference between one day and four day cricket. He may even get a test place against "minor" opposition if he does.
  20. although with Hampshire at 66-3 you could believe a result was possible now.
  21. absolutely, I'm surprised he agreed to take the job. Taylor must be one of, if not the worst, players in the PL and Mbemba isn't much better. The others look as if they know they've no chance with a pair of CBs lke that. Nice football from Saints though.
  22. Maybe next season under Mourinho..
  23. Probably the same as a few Utd players, a burning hatred of Van Gaal and his "philosophy" that's ruining that club and it's players.
  24. Ah no, I think you'll find upon checking that we had a fair few gates under 15000 in the relegation season and maybe one or two under 14000. I went to a game when the place was over half empty and the atmosphere was like a morgue. Sheffield Utd maybe. Could ba an average of about 18000 for that season I suppose.
