  1. Then again you're probably not in Paris. In fact we should be a lesson to all European countries, if you let wimps like Hollande anywhere near the power structure, aided and abetted by Merkel, then you will pay the consequences. We've probably got more refugée camps than Jordan and Turkey combined. I was down in the south the other day, Artland, on every bit of wasteland not protected by three layer thick iron fencing there are 400 caravan gypsy settlements, and they aren't nice French people either. At every traffic light there are beggars who insult you in pigeon french if you don't give them anything.
  2. Puel left Nice of his own accord back in May. He was going to stay on and sign a new contract but something persuaded him to do otherwise. What that might have been I've no idea. At the time I thought that Marseille were on the verge of finding a serious buyer and he'd been approached to take over there, doesn't seem to happening, for the time being at least.
  3. Don't know from where they get their figures or at what moment but these are not the bank to bank rates which are in play at this very moment. Might be what you get from your local travel agency I suppose. Against the Euro the fall has been gradual for about 6 months now apart from a couple of blips where opinion polls have been wrong and there's been a bit of optimism in the markets. I'll lose about 200 euros a month compared to last autumn as it stands today. However going back to football, those clubs who bought players on the never never last summer/autumn (like Martial) will find their remaining payments jacked up quite a bit unless the agreed price was in some other currency than sterling.
  4. I don't know about most of you but one of the most annoying things to me is that the Sun got it right again. Unless of course one dares to think that British voting trends really are effected by crap like the Sun.
  5. Not even 7% against yesterday's start value, less than 5% really. If you go back to last autumn the fall has been vertiginous, from 1.44 at best to this mornings value of 1.237 , but those of us who receive regular sums in GBP converted into euros have kind of gotten used to it. What is more concerning over football in particular will be the non-eligibility of certain EU players, even blokes lke Morgan don't make the cut. Then again nothing will be instantaneous so I'm sure solutions will be found.
  6. Doubt it, but then it's up to the UK to take over isn't it. We'll see how we get on with the jungle, in theory they have no reason to stay put because they're not interested in staying in France anyway. Perhaps they'll all swan off to Angelaland, she likes them.
  7. It should certainly become more controlable yes, but anyway it's sure that there will be nothing very instantaneous about it all.
  8. Not really 10%, the £ has been off colour against the Euro for months, bobbing about at 1.26 to 1.30 most of the time. Today it's at about 1.24 so with the central bank inteventions it probably won't get much worse...hope so.
  9. Well it kinda is, as I explained to you yesterday. Today's Europe is built partially at least on a handful of French votes in a referendum that many still think was rigged.
  10. He was going on 19 when he signed though .
  11. Blanc gets a 22 million euro pay off apparently, absolute folly. Hope Emery is worth it.
  12. Ouchy, don't know how this will affect any Puel candidacy but 6 of his ex players at Nice have been summoned before the courts over illegal betting last season.
  13. But the problem with that is that we can't offer Champion's League football. That's what he wants, he came here to get it but Nico got sacked.
  14. Puel is OK, the players might not like him though. With Claude you do it his way or not at all, still he's nowhere near as bad as Van Gaal in that respect.
  15. Ah well bookies is bookies, very little to do with reality in matter of football players or managers I'm afraid. You're all just cows to be milked by them.
  16. Reckon it will be about 53/47 myself. Pity there's a global press ban on publishing exit polls though. Used to be able to get all the UK election gen by looking at the Nairobi Daily Herald or similar.
  17. Of course, Mauricio played for Paris St Germain at the time that I watched their every game.
  18. Because they can't appoint Emery without sacking Blanc first and he's going to make it a bit hard for them. As they have no valid reason to sack him they'll have to pay him off..
  19. Well Mark Wotte certainly, I forgot about Jan though.
  20. In fact he would have the distinction of eventually being the first Saints manager that I've never heard of before.
  21. Absolutely but now that sports can't advertise drink or fags betting is about all that's left.
  22. He was in the academy at about 10 or 11 I think. No question that we produce good players but most of them come from the young intake to the academy. Walcott was playing for the firsts at little less than the age of the lad under discussion here, albeit in the Championship
  23. Perhaps in th UK, however the French are far less reserved in their expressions on voting slips.
  24. The big players obviously have private, and no doubt illicit, exit poll sources because there's quite a bit at stake for them. However the markets sometimes take a little dip when the NYSE opens if there's even the slightest negative influence somewhere. Me ? I'd trust the bookies not to take a hammering myself so whatever they're saying is possibly a decent indicator..
  25. And none of them make the grade.
