No, I said it's not as if we weren't accustomed to the MO. They've already done it with the CEO hiring haven't they?
-
He was yesterday's man last week, now he's just another dinosaur with no hope of ever getting another football management job...well not a real one anyway.
-
I did actually, I'm like Wanyama, highly desirable material, worked for the highest bidder for years. This is exactly why I can understand the attitude of these young men, they have talent and anyone who p*sses them about won't have their respect for very long. Regrettable but it's the price of all the work put in to hone the raw talent in the first place.

Gray, Wigley, Gorman and Dodd....??????

might be like the CEO replacement, interview a few likely candidates, let everything die down in a wall of silence and then appoint from within, Hunter or Reed. I mean it's not like we're not used to that modus operandii is it.

this "board" didn't sign him, Cortese did, what does Victor care about them anyway, he can get a new job at the blink of an eye, someone will pay good money for him and to him. He feels that he's been let down and is saying so, so will others, some already have...before it was too late.
-
Indeed, just getting a new longer term contract is one thing, keeping players and getting others that you need to progress is something else. Put in a difficult position far too many times last season by lack of depth in our squad and some really mediocre players not being moved on and replacements obtained. He's been through that at Espanyol, took him a while to get a new job, probably didn't want to find himself up against Chelsea next season with Gazzaniga in goal, Jos in defence and JWP and Reed in the middle of the park, he's been there done that and chose not to renew the experience.

the concerning thing is that no matter what really happened the players believe that Pochettino should have been enticed to stay. They all seem to be reading from the same him sheet too, makes you think that the board did not try hard enough to keep Mauricio. "There are several things they have to do, they know it" Morgan in the Echo and elsewhere not long back. Morgan looked very down in the dumps when they were all strolling round the park at Enghien yesterday, perhaps he'd already heard the bad news, perhaps he knew he wasn't going to get a game last night but something was troubling him.
-
And these players of course have their Pro-licences.
-
But he wasn't out of contract, he had next year too, same as Mauricio, wanted a big salary hike and better players though, can't think what for. Mutual agreement apparently.
-
Bielsa signed at Marseille yesterday afternoon, 2 years, Gabby Heinze as assistant. T'was in L'Equipe yesterday, they don't get basic things like that wrong.

Should we hold a vote of No Confidence in the Board, or...

Well i think you'll find that the board cannot in fact be sacked, not by us anyway. When you have shareholders...then you can start about sacking boards (rather than individual members of it) When you have one careful owner then no-one has any power at the end of the day but that person or their appointed trustee. -

Why do you think he was brought in to do that, has he any experience in that sector ? Is his forté not leading people to believe in themselves and thus perform better. I've not too much idea of his background but I certainly don't have him down as a super sales exec. His not a CEO of a company either, in fact at the end of the day he's an ice hockey coach and motivational speaker, how any of that is supposed to improve our commercial receipts I just couldn't say. However he has managed to sell himself to KL and therefore probably boosted his own revenues so who can say really. -

What good would that do...honestly. You either go to games, buy merchandise whatever or you don't. The board don't really care whether we have any confidence in them or not...no matter what they might say on the subject. -
As i've said before, Reed tells what he believes to be the true facts, I doubt whether he really knows what they are. It's just one big gabfest that's going on, call it communication nowadays I think, the inner circle of the board do know what they're doing, whether we'll like it is something else.

Salah is an egyptian, work permits are sometimes difficult when those needing them are loaned to other clubs, not impossible but it's a bit of a process. As far as I know WPs aren't transferable, the specific club holds them for specific players. That was the case with Traoré, when he was going to West ham on loan they had to get a permit, he didn't have the necessary qualifications so it was a tribunal that decided. When he eventually went to Everton they had to apply all over again. Now when a club has obtained a permit on the basis of exceptional quality the tribunal takes a dim view of him being loaned out a few months afterwards. Thet's why so many are loaned out to countries where WPs aren't required.

Will Utd be stronger ? No-one can possibly know that really. They've got Van Gaal but whether he's what they need or not who can say. He wasn't ther first choice apparently but Del Bosque turned them down. If he thinks he can do wel in the PL by flooding his side with Dutchmen then perhaps he has another shock coming. I fully expect Spurs to finish Top 5 next year and with a bit of a push perhaps they'll even sneak above Arsenal.
-
In a word... No. Not a PL manager in any way whatsoever. If the club should try to re-introduce Adkins there will be a mass exodus, players have seen the difference between a textbook FA coach and the real article, they won't want to go back. He's lucky to still have a job at Reading really.
-
Perhaps that suited the board well enough, perhaps they never wanted to keep him, just an illusion that they managed to sell us. Waiting for the next developments to see if we can't judge them differently. To me they're all about saying the right thing, what you people want to hear, doing it is something else. Now KL assured us how hard she tried to keep NC, then some hinted that he wa in fact sacked. The CEO debacle, did we actually interview candidates or was that just smoke and mirrors as well, did we turn them all down or did they not like our "project " Lots of questions, few solid answers.

You reject Laudrup on the basis that he doesn't hang around long anywhere and then select a bloke with a very similar penchant for change. We'd be his 6th club in 8 years as a coach/assistant coach. Why did he pull the plug on Bâle then, oh yes he'd taken them as far as he could, presumably the same at Thoune and Lucerne. People are just touting names they know very little about. Beat Chelsea a couplee of times, Lennon beat Barca, does that make him a desirable candidate though ? Before going too far down the Yakin road (which might be good) you really need to know why he quit on Bâle, I thought it was to go to Lazio, perhaps not.
-
Spurs don't need Lallana, they have by far enough talent in his role, won't be a priority for them.
-
He'll have a squad there, rather than a team and a few misfits to back it up.
-
I remember this being invoked a while back, if Pochettino is no longer here they can sell whoever they like without welshing on their statements. Must have known he was going then and played the smart arses. Mind you some of our public deserve to get crapped on like that, most lapped up the free parking, the open letters, Le Tissier back in grace and selling the banned books again. Proved themselves to be easily pandered to, look where it's got them.

A word of advice, it's probably not quite the right moment to restart your bolloax drivel about Hoddle

really, thought you were a big fan.
