Obviously just doesn't want to be here.....and we don't look to have much chance of getting anything much back for him, probably p*ssed off that we turned down (if there was ever anything to turn down) the loan move to Inter.
-
The odd big hitter ? well obvioulsy I don't think we're going to play the U21s, there will be a few regulars to set the tone I expect. We need to be careful over injuries though, looking at the horrific injury of Falcao due to an amateur's tackle last night you understand the fragility of a top player against poor opposition and do nothing refs.
-
This is the great advantage of having drawn what looks to be a distinctly mediocre opponent. We can play a reduced strength side and still hope..nay expect to win. Don't know how much difference it will make to the result against Arsenal though, depends on who's actually available for that game I expect.
-
It was only being reported in the press, they print whatever it suits them to print.
-
It's only temporary though.
-
How long would that be roughly, he's only been there 6 months or so.
-
Why did they fire him after only 1 season then, too good for them was he ?
-
Andy Carroll is worth 35 million if you can get 50 million for Torres, it's relative.
-
depends who you want to listen to. Personally I've no idea but some would willingly tell you that he's working out his notice at PGMOL (is that it ?) and will be here sometime or other. He's a non-exec at the ref's jobby so what his notice period would be who knows. Perhaps he has to go to the end of the season as did his predecessor. Perhaps we're looking for someone else ,more germanic and with a higher profile.
-
But we're probably subsidising him a wee bit at Donny though, something that the Don wouldn't necessarily have supported because he seemed to have strange ideas about that sort of thing. Still I guess we can sell a few of FF's books to make up for it.
-
has he gone for good then ? How much longer does he have on his contract with us ?
-
Well without being an expert on these thing it may well have been seen as a positive and decisive move instead of letting a week or so go by and then just announcing an in house option anyway. I think it was said that they hoped to appoint a new CEO soon but we still don't know how soon soon actually is. It leaves too much open to speculation and that's never good. Once again as long as the 15 or 16 core players believe that we're on the same path and the manager is not discouraged in any way then nothing else really matters does it. Some of us remember the search for the "right man for the job" when Hoddle left A whole summer of procrastination and then we got Stuart Gray.

I don't disagree because only the match performances and the results interest me, as long as we have good players and a good manager getting reasonable results I don't much care about the rest. When the results become "unreasonable or players start wanting to leave because of lack of ambition on the part of the club then I 'll take interest in the rest. It's football FFS. I have no interest in the U21s because the best players break through to the first team long before that, the old players, the beer, the pies and the club being "fan friendly" do not interest me a great deal. As long as the club remains stable on the pitch the rest doesn't matter. Well not to me anyway.
-
But the only real measure of continuity will be the results on the pitch, at the end of the day it's the only thing that a football club should be judged upon. All the rest is ancillary .
-
there is only 1 appointment for the time being though, when there's another one I guess they'll let us know. The ice hockey bloke is just newspaper speculation as I pointed out yesterday.
-
BBC says until the end of the season, don't know where they got that idea from although Rogers does say "finish the season" in his OS piece.
-
that's some serious drop in level for him then, probably not founded on anything solid.
-
Well it looks like a botched job to me, panic jobby, can't she just do the job herself, people keep telling me she's highly qualified in these affairs.
-
Don't tweet myself either. Anyway he also put out an article last night about Lenhart, posted the link on the appropriate thread. Bloke looks like a Skate, claims he's managed a football club as well...don't know where. Anyway here's the Pochettino gem from last week. http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/premier-league-news/38505-southampton-pochettino-to-forfeit-4m-if-he-quits.php#.Ut-8HdJKFkg

Zoopla end Sponsorship of WBA over Anelka gesture
Window Cleaner replied to KelvinsRightGlove's topic in General Sports
No, I think that's still the case but it's not just on the football front that he has some iffy associates. Anyway Claude has had a couple of dabbles into club management as well, in fact his experience at Raith Rovers and St Louis might lead one to think of him as the Ali Dia of football management. Mind you he did give Raith 300K£ to let him be manager. -

Anelka is also under investigation by the Belgian authorities over some sort of fiscal misdemeanours concerning screen companies he set up with his wife (who is Belgian apparently). Trouble follows him everywhere he goes, probably not all his fault though, he's been surrounded by some doubtful people at times and I don't think he's any too bright. -
So then, I've not time right now to go into all of the guff about this bloke, has he been appointed to the club or not, some seem to think he was and now he isn't. http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/premier-league-news/38838-southampton-director-axed-24-hours-after-joining.php#.Ut-XzdJKFkg perhaps it's just bolloaks though, don't think SD is very reliable is it ?.
