  1. which would explain the woeful performance of some of our players against Chelsea. Said at the time that something unpleasant had gone down at SFC and perhaps I wasn't wrong.
  2. You need to tone down your comments, what on earth has Michu got to do with it, all I've done is point out that the 1.6 million stated is a fraction of the cost we'd eventually incur.
  3. public knowledge really 16K a week in the NPC rising to 25K /wk in the Pl. His unproductive shift here cost us 2 million £ less the loan spell at Tokyo FC and plus any signing on fee. Tad Lee is just proof of just how good you have to be to be a PL regular.
  4. As do most "special case" applicants, apparently they only turned down 1 out of 8 tribunal cases last summer although 2 of the successful applcants then turned down the clubs in question. Don't know how the 5 that did make it turned out for their clubs though. Willian was the only one that I remember in detail.
  5. What De Bruyne ? Can't really understand exactly why his value has gone up even though he's been playing less of late. Too lightweight for the PL methinks, Germany must be the spiritual home of all lightweight footballers, see Holtby is probably on his way back there as well, never seen a player get pushed off of the ball so easily.
  6. but we won't get him for 1.6 million because we'll have to dob him a shedload of swans for his signature as well. The total cost of signing him won't be much less than 15 or 16 million because he'll want a 4 year contract at a fair old salary. Bloke is a good player, he's not going to sign for us for a couple of bob and a 6 month minimum wage contract.
  7. Moses is OK, the other bloke is a waste of space, far too lightweight for the PL, let him stay at Seville where he's suited to their style perhaps.
  8. Perhaps they're not that desperate...yet. Villa on the other hand......
  9. not really, considering the number of high, diagonal balls that they pump into the opponents box in the vague hope that Benteke will get on the end of some of them,as they did against Arsenal yesterday, you could see them signing a Holt type player.
  10. If a player as good as Diego is available for very little money then the number of candidates for his signature will be high. No WP problems, seems to have an Italian passport as well. We may be looking at 1.6 million to sign him but as he's a regular at Wolfsburg they'd probably just shrug that sort of amount off and keep him until the summer. He'd probably want an enormous signing on fee (circa 10 million) and 100K a week. Will be a great move should we pull it off but I somehow doubt it..
  11. We'd still be top 6 but for the horrendous contribution of Gazzaniga.
  12. the team struggles when we have to play one of our two crap reserve goalkeepers, the rest is irrelevant. As for Swansea did I not tip them for relegation ? They really aren't that good because they just cannot defend correctly. Without the goals that their Jamboree Bag surprise Michu got them last season they'd have been in trouble as well.
  13. Mangala was awful anyway, another one of these French kids pumped up to stardom on one good game from time to time but he really isn't very good for the other 90% of the time. They develop very young because they're usually 5 times the size of all of the other kids and then they burn out very early as well. Top European League reserve teams are littered with next Zidanes, Vieras and Desaillys.
  14. Red and white striped specs create optical illusions often enough.
  15. As the commentator on the TV said yesterday Davis doesn't go wide or look to create attacking positions very often, so when we have the ball in midfield as we invariably do we have to check back as often as not because there's nothing better available.Lambert used to create a fair few wide options but now he just isn't getting forward anywhere near quickly enough. Once you get Gaston moving forward all of the time then you have more options even if he loses the ball on occasions. Ideally we need to be getting 60 minutes out of him in nigh on every game. Yesterday I thought he worked hard and tracked back as well as would seem to prove couple of very iffy clearances from the edges of our own box. Obviously something he's not used to doing yet but I'm sure that he'll get there given time..
  16. Artur gets down very quickly which is something the other 2 don't excel at.
  17. Good game, mainly because we won but I thought we outplayed them pretty much but just weren't very efficient in front of goal. I see that Gaston is buckling down and defending as and when necessary. By the by are those 8 miillion for Lambert still on the table because on his performance today we could be laughing all the way to the bank, slows everything down and loses the ball as consistently as gravity.
  18. sheep gut too ?
  19. probably because he hadn't played in a real domestic match for months on end.
  20. Wait until they get to the stage of higher studies, you'll be taking so many for the team that splurging £70 on some rubbish songster or other will pale into insignificance. Worked out the other day just how much one BAC +7 and one BAC+5 to date had cost us, I think we could have bought a small island in the Caribbean with all mod cons and had enough left over for a couple servants.
  21. I expect you'd have to go back to Des Walker and before that John Charles, there's not enough money in the Calcio to attract good British players now, they aren't very well paid you know which is why they're all prepared to sign on in the PL. They double their pay as a rule.
  22. I see Rogers criticised a ref and got fined about 8000£, didn't Moyes get £10000 not long back as well. Now we criticised Clattenburg in an occult sort of manner and Mauricio gets to keep his money. Now that's the Southampton way:smug:
  23. Mauricio probably sacked him/her because ,well the results don't look very conclusive do they.
  24. exactly, see post 4. Think of Tuttomercato as a sewage plant, I mean if you really sift through all the crap all day, every day then you'll probably find a diamond ring that someone dropped down the crapper by mistake.
