Most keepers seem to fumble and parry a lot more than they ever did before; Shilts,Banks etc caught nearly everything. So either the shots are being hit harder and harder with more and more effects, a distinct possibility, you only have to look at Tennis for that, or the the ball is moving more and more in the air and is harder to catch cleanly. Plenty of keepers seem to be very wary of the ball now and prefer to punch it or slap it away rather than take a chance on trying to catch it and drop it at the feet of an attacker. It's not just our keepers though.

There was an incident on Saturday where Gaston might have shown his real worth, after he'd been subbed though I think. When Punch hit the post and JRod and Lambert were too far back to follow in. Think Gaston would have been on that like a flash.

Because they would cost a lot of money and I don't think they have any. Few of our fans seem to appreciate that we have a 10/15 million £ pairing acquired for less than 2 million £

We need to dispel this illusion . We have at least 3 players who are better than Gaston at this moment in time. We probably paid too much for him in his present state. Then again so have most teams, looked at both matches yesterday afternoon and 3 of those 4 sides have players who have not reached the potential the clubs paid for them. Allen was diabolical,Henderson, Jones,Kagawa,Diaby,Podolski and even Cazorla weren't worth anywhere near the prices paid on those performances. Cortese wanted a flagship signing, he made one, the player will get better eventually but he may well be struggling with English Football ,it's intensity, it's weather conditions and the number of games he's required to play.

I don't think the player is over keen either, not if he can go to Milan or some other Champion's League side in the summer.

As I said yesterday the OS gallery images 9 through 12 clearly show Guzan bringing down Puncheon, that's a foul, it's in the box therefore it's a penalty. I presume those very detailed and clear sequential frames are on the gallery for that purpose.

I've looked at the stills of the Guzman/Puncheon incident again and you can see from 2 successive ones that Guzman has brought his knee up to stop Punch's forward progress. That's a penalty.

Really? We have 3 or 4 players better than Gaston because he is erratic and they aren't. He'll be better when it isn't cold, wet and miserable. It takes a while for players to adapt to the English game and conditions. He's taking tackles now that would bring immediate red cards in Italy. Of all our recruits I'd say Maya has adapted the best of all.

Thanks Peyton is what you should be saying, still the Ravens D got him on the run and if you do that he's going to toss a pick sooner or later. Always been dodgy under pressure, Tebow at least won a play-off game. Hate Mannings in general and Peyton in particular so as you say GET IN.

Correct, Villa were desperate in the last 20 and we were sh@gged out, we still tried to keep going forwards though. Games like that influence a whole season.

he has all the pace he needs, a bit of composure and a bit of guile added to his game will make him a really good player. Needed Gaston to be a weeny bit better today and JRod would have had a couple of assists as well.
