  1. You mean the 5 million monopoly money we were supposed to be offering didn't stand up against Swansea's 1.5 million of the real green folding? More likely he thought now Laudrup there's a name I've heard of even if I haven't got a f*cking clue where Swansea is.
  2. too early to judge yet but am beginning to get the feeling that we may have paid more than his qualities are actually worth. Koné cost Wigan about 3 million euros.
  3. Once again I can only stress the inestimable value of a real Premier League keeper, we don't have one and we flipping well need to get one if we're to do anything useful this season.
  4. not really, when you're on holiday in Europe or the US you probably convert everything into miles and pounds sterling to calculate the value. I live in France so it's the other way round for me
  5. 7.62 miles in probably 55/60 minutes actual playing time means he's running at 13/14 km/h all the time. I've seen these stats for French League 1 matches on Canal + cos they're big on stats and 7.62 miles is immense even for a CM, usually goes t somewhere around 10 k for the most active. If Morgan is covering so much distance it tends to show that some other player isn't putting in a big enough shift. Try running for a hour at 14 km/h, it's not something everyone would do, let alone putting in tackles and passes as well.
  6. I don't know how accurate these stats are but if they're anywhere near the mark it goes to show just how erratic many of our fans are in their opinions. http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/614117/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2012-2013-Southampton-Wigan nb Jos and José 1 tackle between them, wtf is that.
  7. I see Sky were totally unimpressed by him in their ratings though. They gave the MOM to the Wigan keeper. A really decent keeper in this league is like having 2 extra men sometimes, kept them in the match by all accounts and gave them the time they needed to exploit our defensive failings. I am singularly unimpressed by our recruitment so far and whoever is responsable for it needs a big kick up the ass. We didn't really need another striker but we do need at least one CB, a GK and left back.
  8. Because it would seem to me that TL is a player with pace and unpredictability and we seem to be kind of lacking in those qualities just now, so at least worthy of a bench place if fully fit.
  9. I'd be none too impressed either if I was TL and I was fit.
  10. What seems wrong is that we're trying to play Lambert,Lallana,Guly and Rodriguez in a 4-3-3 base system. Nigel's just got to choose becuse it's either Lambert or Rodriguez but not both, surely he knew that when we paid 7 million for an NPC goaleador .
  11. Absoutely nothing in L'Equipe about this and Rennes are pretty open about their transfer dealings as a rule.
  12. Only player on our side to have participated in a stupid international friendly in the week though. If we had a viable alternative he might have been subbed beforehand. Position needs sorting out illico, thanks to Buttner leading us on for 3 months or whatever.
  13. Now to me, it looked as if we just didn't last the distance on Sunday. We found out to our cost, as did Reading last night, competing at this level means hacking it with the mega billionire clubs for 95 minutes, not 60 or 70, cos what they do is grind you down and then throw on a couple of class players in the last 15/20 minutes to finish you off. Fox's clearance ws just a tired gesture from a player that had been under the cosh for 80+ minutes, could have been anyone.
  14. Going to be just like the Büttner case, we'll do all the spade work and all the acceptable details will be thrashed out, then it will stumble on some trifle and a 'big' club will just step in and sign on the dotted line and dish out the necessary bungs which we wouldn't do.
  15. Right, seen all of the match now, good game for us but I thought we didn't last the distance this time, no doubt we'll get that sorted soon enough.
  16. Although I've only seen the first half so far I'd agree with you there, can't really see why JWP got rave notices cos his contribution to what I've seen so far is pretty minor and he gives the ball away quite often. Also loses his runner on a couple of occasions, gets taken to task by Morgan and Fonte for that as well. We need to start Davis as soon as he's fit enough to last the first 70 or so.
  17. Buttner and Ramirez if you believe all the rumours. You have to allow for personal choices though in the case of Lallana,Puncheon and Fox. 10 is number to which all continental attacking midfielders aspire, in our actual case it should be Lallana but as he's got a fixation on 20 it will go to Ramirez if he signs.
  18. the answer lies in the squad numbers really. Typical first team today I think. 1,2,13,5,6,4,8,20,7,9,42 or whatever number Guly is now.
  19. Nice win today, if only we could get a few entirely dry matches we might even get promotion. Got to get McKenzie back at the start of next season though.
  20. Got to get this straight once and for all; a Skate is a Skate, no added adjective changes that.
  21. 5 games might be a bit scroogish, probably get 10 at least but the recruitment has been poor in some areas, CB for instance where NA has said we would definitely be strenghening and that hasn't happened so far. All depends really whether the players we have brought in and those confirmed in their positions (like KD) have been NAs doing.
  22. There's a poll on the OS, incredibly 55% of the respondants think we'll actually win....blind faith eh !!
  23. Agreed.. and to make our chances even lower we have one of the worst goalkeepers in the PL to give the aforementioned a helping hand..just cannot believe that we are just 5 days from the big KO and KD is still our number 1, we must be going for Derby's record I suppose.
  24. more like 39 actually, see they've signed Rodwell today as well.
  25. Disappointing result tbh, attack mute again.
