  1. How did we get on with that then?
  2. If you believe all you read on the internet Liverpool were after him as well.Big mate of Suarez apparently.
  3. He's probably hoping Everton will bid for him as well then in that case.
  4. doubt it, he's an offensive midfielder anyway. Midfield "hardmen" no longer exist, the rules of the game have made them obsolete.
  5. Isn't he out of contract at the end of June? It would be a straightforward Bosman and not a loan really.
  6. Nice shirt
  7. Not sure that he actually played a single game though, got injured in the reserves and then went on loan to Barnsley.
  8. Just the average price hike(about 150£ I guess) on STs will bring in about an extra £2 million or so, double that because matchday prices will go up as well and you've got over half of a £7 million fee already.
  9. What I'm trying to say here (and I get your sarcasm) is that the role that Sigurdsson players, left sided offensive midfielder and playmaker,is occupied in our team by Lallana, now if Lallana isn't perceived to be as good, nor as effective as Sigurdsson then perhaps he needs a kick up the backside because if you play both of them you're going to be lopsided..
  10. Ever thought that we might not want Sigurdsson ?? It's not a case of competing with Swansea really,we have Lallana so really what would we do with Sigurdsson? Anyway he obviously likes playing for Brendan Rodgers and didn't get on particularly famously with Hoffenheim it would seem. Horses for courses and all that. I'm sure that whatever our targets actually are we'll get our men.
  11. I read somewherethat Seedorf has signed for a club in South America,Brazil,Venezuela something like that. I think he's from what used to be called Dutch Guyana, probably Surinam nowadays,so it's a move that would take him back towards his roots.Could be wrong though cos I can't remember where I saw it.
  12. I see that Swansea have agreed a fee for Sigurdsson then, told you he would stay there
  13. but let's face it Scotland wouldn't ever score for themselves,he probably felt sorry for them:rolleyes:
  14. And yet we paid nigh on 4 million for that dork from Ecuador and his cousin.
  15. Right I can see his problem, needs to cut out all that crap and just hang about the pub like a real footballer, won't get injured doing that.
  16. Yanga Mbiwa(PSG,Spurs etc cited) is set to leave I think and they'll not be able to resist the euros on offer for Belhanda. Just those 2 should bring them somewhere north of 20 million I should think
  17. Right I'll have a stab at the relegation stakes then. Swansea Wigan QPR
  18. Now Stambouli, there's a player I'd like to see us sign (as well as Belhanda of course) but he says he's not really interested in moving on just yet so I guess it's just a pipe dream.
  19. i expect most people are working on a last season+20% basis though, seems a reasonable sort of amount to put aside.Wouldn't doubt that there'll be plenty of clents for the new staged payments system as well..if it gets introduced that is.
  20. I'll take your word for it then, thought that NA might want to try to get Morgan to push forward more in the PL.Exploit the time and space you seem to get more of in that league.
  21. perhaps he was looking at no-one in particular.Football managers go to a lot of games just to see the football. It was just 2 prospective opponents for next season.
  22. I thought he already did, how often do you see him out wide? He plays in an old fashioned inside left position most of the time. He could play the role but I think he'd need to be more altruistic to make it work really well.
  23. Depends, Morocco's best player right now is probably Belhanda, and he's from Avignon and plays for Montpellier.Chamakh is from somewhere around Toulouse.
  24. no they bloody well aren't, not any more. Those that are entitled to a French passeport have been on French soil in their youth for a number of years (like Drogba). However with the scouting systems of a lot of french clubs the real prospects are often in the French youth academies by the time they're about 8 or 9 anyway. Take the case of Demba Ba, a senagalese to all evidence, right but he was actually born in the suburbs of Paris,so it's no good looking in Senegal for players like him;you have to look in the Parisian youth leagues.
  25. I too like Montpellier, was down that way a couple of week-ends back, even went into the sea at Palavas, not many places around that you still find free near-beach parking these days.MHFC's budget isn't all that small though, 36 million euros,so that's about 30 million £ annually so that would be a bit more than Saints I think.Still they do have a fine academy system and contrary to us many of their youngsters actually see first team football. That's then difference with French football though, they do give home grown youngsters a bit of a chance but when they turn out well they have great difficulty hanging on to them, probably because of the relatively poor salaries on offer (compared to the PL that is) and the savage taxation system which M.Hollande's election will no doubt make even worse.
