  1. Palace were an incredibly poor side with nothing to play for, I could have looked good against them. Sharp still has to show me that he's worth what we paid and that the choice by whoever it was is a good one. If Tad was fit Sharp would be on the bench and Barnard would be playing Southern League football or something. The injuries to Tad and Morgan may well cost us,already I feel that the title has gone, never mind, but we have to do it on Tuesday because we may not at Boro, unless Morgan is back, missed him desperately last night, the composure that calms everything down, buys time and cuts out the need for speculative diagonal balls down Gorkss,Pearce and Federici's collective throat.
  2. On what do you base that statement? he cannot control the ball correctly in one movement, it slows everything down, he cannot tackle correctly thus putting himself under pressure just a few minutes into the game. If you had the advantage of the close ups of the TV you'd see what i mean, every time a ball came in he seemed to be sort of holding back instead of going for it positively, it's what happens when you've already got a card and your direct opponent has a bit of pace and a bit of guile.
  3. Sharp seemed obsessed with obtaining a penalty, couldn't understand that myself and the commentators couldn't either. Kept saying that Sharp needed to stay on his feet.
  4. Thought a real keeper might have come out on the cross for their first goal actually. Just a thought that crossed my mind at the time though.
  5. But as there was no end product it just doesn't matter.Seemed to me to be our problem again last night, no end product from a lot of chances and Reading were extremely efficient whenever they got a sniff.
  6. was looking for the ball in the centre circle a lot of the time, not much supply you see, we seemed to be obstinately giving it to Butterfield to pump speculative balls into the box or De Ridder to dribble it up his own backside.
  7. You are spot on, Hammond gave the ball away in the centre simply because he's not good enough to play against sides like Reading and the rest is history.I keep saying that Hammond isn't good enough for a top NPC side and mugs defend him.Never want to see the bloke in a Saints shirt again but no doubt we will, same goes for Chaplow running around doesn't cut it at this level if you can't control the ball. Why we signed Falqué and gave Puncheon a reprieve just beats me,at least one of them should have been on the bench last night to produce something a bit different if necessary. On to Peterborough, first of the last chance saloons.
  8. That's it then title blown,promotion ????????
  9. Just about sums up the 47 minutes that I've just watched.
  10. Trains with the others but looks as if he's been cast aside on a matchday basis together with Bart and Falqué.
  11. Dean doesn't owe us for calling off a Boxing Day game for no reason whatsoever after fans had paid out their hard earned to travel to Charlton.
  12. 314 then but as we gave them 43 extras including a fair old number of NBs,250 isn't so far off the mark.
  13. Especially if we get a penalty, Rickie won't miss that, Federici or no Federici.
  14. but they have Mullins and MacAnus who can play in CM whereas we'd have to go with Punch and Chappers or something like that which may be a bit detrimental on the defensive side of the role.
  15. Certainly better than Hammond but I think you're right in thinking that the loss of Karacan is probably more important. However Mikele Leigertwood is a vastly experienced player and is Reading's engine. Still Tabb,Karacan and probably Leigertwood out for them against Morgan for us sounds about even then.
  16. Start to the day wasn't bad with 2 quick wickets for Balcombe but Dent seems to be proving what we saw a few times last season, if you get your head down and graft against Hampshire's attack then there's probably not enough oomph or guile to get you out anyway.
  17. I have been totally vaccinated against that sensation by our failure to beat Pompey.Very edgy about this game.
  18. nope, the FA will tell the FL to dock them £5000 from their next payout.Everything passes by the FL and the FA, they just dip in and get what they want.
  19. and that will probably cost us quite a lot.Who dropped him? Katich?
  20. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's obviously hoping that there is a winner and a loser tomorrow night because if there isn't his side has 0% chance of automatic promotion although they'll probably win their last 4 games.
  21. What can you expect..it's Pompey FFS
  22. fair enough I guess
  23. And Brum will be preparing their play-off first leg game.If they beat us tomorrow night they will be champions and we of course won't. We cannot count on any other teams beating either West Ham or Reading to gift us the title or promotion, this is something we have to do for ourselves.
  24. What amazes me is that tickets were still on sale this morning and now we have desperate dans begging for tickets. Guess they were part of the "won't sell out I'll just turn up on Friday" brigade.
  25. Same old, same old then, good start and then the opposition's batsmen get on top. At least we can't be relegated this season. Gloucs 195/4
