  1. can't see why, as long as we get it right from the start it's a decent side.
  2. depends if Reeves or Hoskins is higher in the pecking order I guess.I liked the look of Hoskins last week, seemed to have a bit more about him than Reeves...not that that's a criticism mind you.
  3. look, NA said that as far as he knew we have not, repeat not, received any bids for the permanent transfer of Jason Puncheon, so who do you want to believe Nigel or Tony Finnegan?? Finnegan is an agent, he'll do or say whatever he thinks is best for his client.
  4. saints are a kaleidoscope anyway
  5. then it will come to a less than satisfactory end.I really hope we're not trying to offload Puncheon as a condition of every deal because by those standards I'll be playing for Saints soon because no club will wear that.
  6. Agent crap as usual. Where was the Saints turned down 650K for Puncheon of late....yep Daily Mail, Finnegan leaks bullsh*t to the Mail it's evident, it's like buying ad space for him.NA says no definite bids for JP, so how come we turned down 650K from Blackpool...yep figment of agent's imagination.
  7. Same old question though why would Liverpool want Zaha, he's got nothing to offer that they haven't already got from their players who are out on loan in League 1.Does AOC play for the Arse every week, no not as yet, so Zaha is nowhere near as good so he has nothing to offer Liverpool for the time being. This is just agent rubbish to fill newspapers who are always interested in a bit of BS to fill a couple of column inches.
  8. Why would Celtic want Puncheon....can't see that at all. If they were to sell us Hooper..which they probably won't then they'd need a main line striker and not an advanced midfielder.Puncheon+ £s for Commons is a sort of possibility though.
  9. BBC say that Richardson,Guly and Connolly are available again. Hope we don't go with Guly+Connolly in attack though, don't much like that combination.
  10. wouldn't be such a bad thing anywhere really.Far too much production time is wasted on those gimmicks.
  11. He was probably watching the kids play, like I said yesterday, if you own a pair of footer boots you're probably on their "shortlist".
  12. Same as a lot of the rumour generators on this very forum, they make it up to fill out time. See how it works, Saints like Gary Hooper cos he's played for NA before and a player like that is much too good to be in Scotland when we have AOC money which must be in the order of at least a billion sitting in the bank doing nothing oh my god we haven't scored a goal in a month of Sundays help mummy we need a new striker cos the one we've just signed has never played for NA beforehand and is bound to be rubbish.
  13. Desperately trying to stave off the next hike in sanctions I expect but they'll play their usual hide and seek game and nothing will probably come of it.
  14. If he was they saw us coming, probably nearer 700/800K though.
  15. As Liverpool had taken an easy 50 million from Chelsea for Torres it doesn't really matter.Torres was already on the slide anyway so at the end of the day it made them a 15 million profit which paid for about 2/3s of Suarez who is a decent player if only he could keep his trap shut.
  16. Perhaps the decoder isn't set up correctly, they can be temperamental things sometimes. Is it satellite or cable ? Plus sometimes it takes them a while to see that you're on line and spark up your connection. You usually have to leave on some channel or other for a fair old while.
  17. In fact it could be the opposite, as sanctions really start to bite and Europe decreases even further it's purchase of Iranian oil and puts pressure on Japan to cut Iranian imports as well it could well be that Iran starts to maverick on oil prices because of their dimished revenue streams. This would nark all of the others and provoke a lot of inter-arab tension.
  18. Ah West Ham, a month's worth of constant rumours for exactly how many signings to date. At least we've got one definite signing.
  19. Ah right on the other side instead of AL, forgot that, was he as successful?thought his performance against Boro was a real benchmark.
  20. Amazing Chaplow with his what is it 4 or 5 starts at attacking mid has become totally indispensable. What did we do to win games without him eh,when he wasn't in the side or being sent off for dodgy tackles as a CM.I think the first game he played in a more forward role was Boro at home, remember that because we'd been discussing the possibility of that on the build-up thread, then posh at home,Coventry away and Brighton at home before his injury at Brizzle, bloke has become a messiah in the space of 4 games.
  21. Don't think so, that's Liam Noble who's signed for Carlisle on a permanent basis now I think.Ryan Noble seems to be a striker who's been on loan at Derby and Watford at times in these last couple of years. The sort of loan signing that wouldn't surprise me in fact.
  22. In any case sanctions are beginning to bite hard into the Iranian economy and with another turn of the screw coming up on or about the 23rd January I think we'll be seeing some real results on the streets of Tehran fairly shortly. If you believe reports the rial is fkd and Iranians are scrambling for dollars even at a 20% mark up,could be just propaganda though. I guess we'll have to see just what effects the new measures bring and what Khameini will do about it because he's the only man that decides in Iran.
  23. Talks about the blip, says players aren't overly concerned, don't win Championships in January but feels that expectations amongst supporters have perhaps got much higher because of our success to date and that if you give them a finger they'll take the whole arm which is apparently a literal translation of some dutch idiom or other.Think there's a written precis on the OS as well.
  24. Listen to Jos on SP.
  25. Because they've been in debt for yonks, have a shît ground and not many fans. Their PPs would have totalled about 20 million,ie not much more than ours when we were relegated. The Saints were in the top flight for many years and yet we ended up in admin as well. The whole point being that any pretention of PL survival means that you have to increase your total salary mass enormously and project said amount over 2 or 3 years because the players you take on won't accept contracts of 1 year or 18 months. That's what happened to us,as many have said we spent 7 million but we'd sold players for more than that after relegation,Baird,Bale,Theo,Jones etc etc brought in far more than we spent. But as we weren't a hip team any more any we had an absolute knob of a manager in Burley we wasted our money on iffy, overaged, burnt out players who were just there for the money.Pompey were exactly the same, big wage bill with nothing to show for it on the field.Throw in a couple of iffy owners and bob's yer uncle.
