I think we do yes. Don't like to see all this stupid talk about if and when and whatever. We aren't going to be spending 2 million on any player just now, not 1.5 million, probably not even a million. All this transfer talk and closing in on and I guarantee that Austin will be signing stuff has just created unrest among the populace.
-
Nobody has discussed personal terms because we obviously have not obtained the right to discuss anything at all with any player. Even if we bid the bids were not high enough and that's it and all about it,and it wouldn't be 200K missing either it would probably be half the required amount.
-
Leeds were a good side, you only have to look at where they are now to see that. We too are a good side but we have glaring weaknesses,Right Back, Left Back,Keeper and one Central Defender just aren't good enough to be able to compete with a motivated United side.
-
Man U won't give a toss who plays for us and who doesn't. SAF has already decided who plays and who doesn't.Any Man U side should be good enough to beat Saints because we have inherent weaknesses that even their reserves or U21 s or whatever they call them could exploit. You only had to wach them grind Blackpool down to know that, that's what they do Utd, they grind you down and eventually win. What are the odds on a Chicharito HT,cos with Fonte and Jaidi or Fonte and Seaborne that's a good bet. Anyway I am certain that if Sir Alex wants to know the exact status of Adam Lallana then he knows it already.

Bale - If only we had that sell on fee!
Window Cleaner replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Depends if a sell on fee would transcend the demise of the original company doesn't it. Depends if SLH were the recipient or SFC. -
So if you bet £9 on Utd at 4/9 and £2 on us at 7/1 you'd be sure to make a profit if the game wasn't drawn ?? I suppose it depends on what the betting tax is these days.
-
OP is: Kelv has SKD on his shorts.
-
Well it's Bart, Hammond,Gobern and Fonte taking on Man U all by themselves obviously with the help of the Academy.
-
Morgan and Gobern both in 2009.

You do not know what we might do or not do or even if we bid at all for these players. I have absolutely no idea whether we have significant money available or not. The Posh chairman said he'd had no bid from us for CMS and as for Austin no-one knows if we bid or not.Obviously any bid we might have made for him wasn't enough and that's about the end of it.All we know is that NA said significant bids had been made for a couple of players but the size of "significant" would depend on the quality of the players in question. 100K would be commensurate with a League 2 player and 50 million would be about ball park for Rooney. Brighton apparently bid 400K for Harley but he went to Swansea on a free because they're willing to loan him back for 4 months.
-
we might have offered 50£ plus our rejects.Having made a bid does not mean it was anything like realistic value. Millwall are said to have bid 150K£ for Puncheon ,true it's a bid but nowhere near our valuation obviously.
-
that can't have taken up much of your time though, bet you've been arguing with Northam Lights on 606 and won't admit it. See Weston has been telling him to watch out for legal action.
-
For Puncheon? you betcha,

In fact there have been quite a few cases of players signing new contracts with the precise purpose of obtaining a better deal for their club.Should we not get promotion (but we will) a 4 and a 1/2 year contract will just get us money for Lallana (and incidentally more money for Bournemouth)Although I don't know where Bournemouth would have stood if he'd moved on on a free transfer, in theory they'd get nothing.
-
But football is different, it's not a precise science.Sport is sport and with it go all the "aléas". It's why you can't be sacked for being crap in football and why contracts are fixed term.

Season ticket holders loyalty and the ticket office.
Window Cleaner replied to Tractor_Saint's topic in The Saints
As I read it you don't have to buy a ticket for Carlisle if you've already got one.Perhaps it's just misleading as is "non restricted sale ".Sales remain linked to the match against Carlisle United on Saturday 12th February, but if you have already bought a ticket for the visit of the Cumbrians, then you will not have to purchase any additional seats for that game. Not very much ambiguous there really is there. -
I'd much rather it was the other way round though.
-
Of course he comes out of the Auxerre formation centre where the grand manitou Roux presided for a couple of decades. If you look at the players who came out of Auxerre it's like half of the French national side for 2 decades. If he's still got what it takes to have got in there in the late 90s then he can be pretty good for us.
-
Anyway it's thought to be about 800K maximum with a fair bit on goals and appearances. I thought we might have fancied him at that price, can't see us bidding 1.5 for Austin when we might have got Madine for about 400K down or something like that.
-
Confirmed. France 4 are showing 6 FA Cup games this next week-end, we're on from 18.10 to 20.00
-
how much did Sheff W pay for Madine just out of interest, bet it wasn't 50p
-
Barnard is quick, can't use both feet and has problems with his equilibria though.
-
Ah Austin, isn't he the bloke for whom we're supposed to have had a bid accepted and yet his manager says that only Blackpool's bid comes near their estimation of his worth. Now is that a paradox...nope both can't be true, that's not it then, aha I know what that's called...bullsh*tting.
-
no it gives credence to those who are suggesting it's 10 million or bust.I don't care either way personally but since somebody has been pushing pushing pushing this deal there's going to be fall out or a falling out.I don't think he's anywhere near our best player anyway.
-
I might even go with Butterfield instead of Richardson,
