does he do brawls in nightclubs??? if not that's a + for him then isn't it.

I entirely agree here, what is the point of having a "development squad" if you have no intention whatsoever of ever using it in a League game when you have nothing left to lose. Now NA likes to witter on about creating a pathway for this group of young players and yet when he has a chance he doesn't use it.It just smacks of him saying what the Chairman and I presume Mr Reed want to hear.At least Arry was honest about it, he wasn't impressed with the youth set up and said so.It's just hypocrisy to let us believe that we have all this "talent" in reserve. It might be added that some of these players have played in the Championship before on occasions, some of them are still scrubbing around in the development group at 19/20 yrs old whereas Morgan who is now seemingly the new whipping boy has played nigh on 80 or so first team games at 21
-
A while back NA said in one of his interviews that he wasn't afraid to drop Rickie Lambert but as he hasn't that means one of 2 things a) he thinks he's doing an OK job even though we have difficulty scoring most of the time. b) he can't drop him even if he wanted to. Take you pick according to your beliefs. As we didn't sign a loan striker even though we knew Barny was struggling it's a bit of a conundrum.

doubt if wur Cassie would be seen dead anywhere near a dump like Newcastle anyway.
-
Which is why of course Mourinho,Benitez and Ancelotti would never get a top job in this country.
-
Lambert is 28 going on 29, he's been playing rough and tumble lower league football for all his professional career, make do and mend injury treatment, some might say he didn't lead a very healthy life before he came here. 57 games last season. All that has taken it's toll, no doubt he's stale and starting to go over the top, don't think it will be a very gradual descent for him.

Is Adkins living up to your expectations?

If we were succesful then I guess the play-offs are better than nothing. But you're always at the mercy of an individual mistake or collective off day, you end up playing your whole season on 1 or 2 games. -
of course it isn't his last chance his name pre-printed on the team sheet.

Correct. Back in the euphoria days of last summer I predicted that we would get nigh on 100 points this season and I thought I was being conservative in my estimates. Obviously we can't win every game but a round 100 looked reasonable. Now I sincerely doubt that we have the arms to obtain automatic promotion, trouble is I placed great faith in AP, seeing as NC said all was well and AP had his full support blah blah blah. Then AP gets the sack and we get this "manager" who reminds me as some sort of scoutmaster or bumbling history professor.I really don't think he can handle "problem players" so I guess he leaves that to his sidekick or Santa's Elf. I have come to doubt his judgement in the matter of players and I am afraid that it will leave us short in the long run. -
so then what's happening on this one. Hope we haven't been insane enough to send the Ox up there.

I've looked at the highlights and would say the flight of the ball deceived him because he's gone too far to his right and doesn't have his body behind the ball. Anyway as I said yesterday if Lallana and Dickson hadn't been such a pair of powderpuffs in the build up the shot wouldn't have come in anyway.I blame them more than Kelvin

What have England U21s got to do with it anyway. Lallana is going on 23

Anyway at the end of the day both Adkins and the team have got to get their act together in the more difficult games and above all we need to kick Lambert down to the bench and get a striker in who can score goals on a reasonably regular basis, say 1 in every 3 games without needing penalties (which he doesn't win) to boost his total.I think Adkins is guilty of extreme naivety in the striker situation and needs to sort himself out to conform to the expectations of a club with a plan and not be as he was at S****horpe where anything was acceptable because they have no expectation. -

Sheffield Wednesday isn't the right example though is it,you need to take the 3rd side who've a higher/points game average. -
speaking of seagulls and trawlers, our hero Eric said the other day that everyone should go down to their bank and take out all their money so that the whole corrupt system would collapse. Don't think he had much success though.
-
needed to be put on the bench a long time ago, bench him now and he'll just ask for an out in the window.
-
Can't compare him with Rooney though, Rooney hasn't been playing much of late. In fact I'm pretty sure that if you look at every striker who's played 22 odd games this season very very few would have scored less goals from open play.

You do spout bollix sometimes , firstly it's 77+ because you haven't used the right sample, and then you assume that we'll get better and the other won't.If you want to compare promotion chances by using statistics you've got to be objective and treat everyone equally. What you don't factor into your argument at all is that we've 12 home games and 15 away games left.Others have it the other way round. If you take our home form under Adkins it gives us 17 points from 8 games away it's 7 points from 5 games. Extrapolate all that over the remaining games and we come up with 25 and a half points at home and 21 away. Total it up and that says we're on target for a staggering 74 and a half points this season. Aren't stats wonderful. -
Are we going to be dissapointed in January?
Window Cleaner replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
not that difficult really, we've only scored 25 in total I think, of which 4 penalties,1 deflected free kick and at least 2 gifts from a Sunday League keeper. We're managing about 1 goal from open play per game, not so dusty:scared: really when you have a million £ striker, and offensive midfielder who most think would command a transfer fee of 4 million £. -
No but seriously though who does he think he is Adkins, last week in his pre-match he was wittering on about Fonte, it was the usual yes well he's suspended and he'll have to work really hard in training if he wants to be considered for selection for the next match stuff. If I was Fonte I'd tell him where he could shove his "working hard in training" seeing all the good that 10 days of "good training" did us last week. Bloke is just a buffoon in his interviews.

Saints 0 Brentford 2 - Post Match Depression

Midanbury Sports or Sholing would have given that Tranmere side a run for it's money. Tranmere aren't great anyway but that was virtually Tranmere reserves. -
Each to his own but I don't rate him at personally...Adkins that is, I think he's out of his depth already. Good results when it's easy but hasn't got a clue about players. To me dropping the consistent Harding for the airy fairy Dickson is just incomprehensible.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have half the S****horpe side here come the end of January, it's all NA knows about.
