  1. a stuffed penguin would look like a good player to most Owls fans
  2. although he thought Lambert was crap and you thought he had a fair game !!!
  3. we could always loan him out pending a permanent deal in January, maybe he wants to go back to Palarse, I'm sure there'd be plenty of takers for him.
  4. told you so, we have a great side;only the goals were missing
  5. no whispering Dave, tasty bonus
  6. Doctors,Lawyers,Football Managers and Players,Execs of Blue Chip companies,Top flight bankers and market traders,Sports Physios,Nobel winning philosophers.... you name it we've got it....trouble is it's the same posters claiming to be it each time.
  7. adolescent alcoholism=british disease
  8. what hammond and schneiderlin need is some decent movement in front of them and someone in attack capable of producing some end product. Its easy to look crap when you have to hit speculative 40 yard efforts because there is no class in front of you, then the ball comes back your way instantly and you have to go and win all over again, with that sort of ping pong motion you're phucked after 40 minutes.Lallana has been a great loss, Chamberlain is not yet ready for continual first team football,Puncheon isn't moving enough and Lambert is a waste of space atm, with Lallana back, Richardson getting forward down the right and a striker pressuring the defence all the time our midfield will look just as it did last season.
  9. to do what??? we need a striker and nothing else.
  10. strange though really, Puncheon, Lambert and Fonte, 3 players who came here with the express aim of getting us promotion last season all struggling to find their performances of last season at the same time. Still Fonte looked a bit nearer the mark last Saturday, perhaps Lambert and Puncheon will get there soon.
  11. whatever happened to the "Full 90s" then, used to look forward to those, perhaps we only did them for home games we won by handsome margins.
  12. [quote=Clifford Nelson;856340 He had an outing in the U-21s. Did anybody see him? . there is a reflection on his performance on one of the two threads covering that game, I seem to recall that Holmes was the only player worth keeping was about the jist of it.
  13. not all of them though,a couple were in French and German lower leagues, mind you most of our fans would have issues with their "work rate" I guess.Still as we seem to be baulking at sums of around 500K (wasn't that what Reading wanted for Antonio?) I suppose most of them would be out of our price range.
  14. I was looking at some European goals on TV earlier today, what struck me was the instinctive precision which a lot of the scorers possess, split second, first time half volleys curled inside posts, running on to a through ball and just slotting it past the keeper from 18 yards out without seeming to look up....we need one of those instinctive strikers sharpish cos Lambert has lost it and Barnard for all his huff and puff isn't effiicient enough, Antonio had the sort of class we need (but there was still a lot of waste attached to it as well).
  15. probably just working on his match sharpness then. Doubt if he'll start on Saturday though.I'd like to see Dickson start instead of Puncheon and someone with a bit of experience to start instead of AOC.
  16. Fun bags??? More like bean bag chairs
  17. perhaps we will have to pay off Pardew and his cronies !!!!!!!! just as we will have had to pay S****horpe.
  18. how much longer before Richardson is fit??? Butterfield is one slow focker who adds nothing going forward, Semi was 200% better going forward. If you look at the "highlights" of the Colchester game, watching Butters trying to get back for Us nearly goal is painful, why Morgan got closer and he was 30 yds further away.
  19. but StE are top so Ligue is completely crazy, seems that the habitual "top sides" have completely screwed up on their pre-season work, why I think Lyon have even changed the preparateur physique because they had an infirmary full of players all with roughly the same injury.
  20. so it's true that you only need to possess a pair of flash boots to get a game with Wales U21s then
  21. but obviously less than all the qualified orthopaedic surgeons who post on this forum:blush::blush:
  22. this is in fact correct, there is far far too much focus on the central midfield, they aren't there to be our principal goal scorers, they are there to break up attacks, recover the ball and relay it forward. Puncheon, Chamberlain,Barnard and Lambert are there to score goals, but as they can't do that just now there is a clamour for every other player on the pitch to be a doing their job for them. We need a striker who can score and a wide player who can make something of stuff that falls to the corner of the box, ie RL of last season and Lallana or Antonio.Morgan and Deano are(probably) doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing. furthermore we need to get rid of those ridiculous grandad shorts, they're probably slowing the lads down by half a yard every time.
  23. but AP didn't like him (as with Holmes) AP had binkies who got a game whatever they did and players who wouldn't get a game if they were the only fit player on the roster.
  24. :lol::lol::lol::lol::
