No they didn't. As I've told you all many times Harry has a way of managing that needs to be left alone and not have too many questions asked about it. If Rupert had just stumped up the cash and let him get on with doing what he does best and faded into the background we'd probably still be in the EPL.

Hooper, Robinson, O'Donovan all have one thing in common, all goal jockeys with a very tasty looking goals/games ratio. Perhaps it's just an area that AP has identified as being primordial (presuming there's any truth in any of them of course) Hope it isn't just a palliative measure to compensate something nasty no longer in the woodshed . -
And yet Lawrie feels that he needs to add his farthing's worth all the same. Once again he's said something when the best thing to do was say nothing. Still may be he got a free lunch out of it or something like that.

Brown gone for 81, still need to shift Mullaney pretty quickly though, he's got a batting average of nigh on 80, seems to be some sort of newby to the first class game, just 5 innings so far.

In fact it sounds like we're getting hammered again.

When the final whistle blows Saturday

It's a 5 year plan (apparently) and we won the JPT and made the 5th round of the cup. Most would accept that as being completely adequate if no-one had banged on about higher things.Everything is clouded by continual statements about reaching the play-offs, they would have been a bonus but nothing more if the club management hadn't started on about them, virtually from the outset. -

Expectation fuelled by constant going on by various members of the management and team about "top 2 finish" "playoffs are the absolute minimum", "we're not out of it yet" and so on and so forth. If they didn't want to build up expectation then they should have toned it down a bit. -

I don't think he's a Lambert like player at all, more Antonio type but a bit more polished, very quick, pretty tricky apparently. Might be a perfect Lambert foil by the looks of it. Looks like he's pretty sharp around the box as well. -
surely it should be ability challenged spackers

Lee Holmes to Norwich? would that be as well as Lambert and Lallana then? (that was on yesterday's totally made up rumour roundabout) Robinson scores a fair few goals though. -

Oh right a "stopper" is a left back, to me a stopper is a central defender . -

what would that be then in place of Seaborne? Too many players are what we don't need, we already have far too many anyway, just that half of them are crap. -
He said that there would be no let up before last week's match as well. When you weaken your team then you send out a false message to your players and some of them think it's of no importance, like Lallana and perhaps Barnard last week. He can say what he wants, the players will probably do what they want as well, still it's only Sarfend.

Anyway it will all depend on what part (if any ) of his 18 months AP mortgaged to obtain the 2 million or so transfer funds in January. That is the real factor, not how close we came or how well we nearly did. If it was "if I give you 2 million funding you will guarantee a place in the play-offs or else" then it's case closed, any shades of grey will depend on what was agreed.

you are probably right, here (in theory)every position should be decided on qualification alone. Mind you you need a special diploma to be a street sweeper or a dustman. And work permits don't exist, if you can get a job you can probably get a residence permit.
-
perhaps in the UK, here it would be punished because it's supposed not to matter
-
ethnic discrimination, you're not allowed even to ask about it on job applications, all jobs are open to all races in France, except for the Defence and Education ministries and some parts of the Finance Dept which are reserved for French Nationals only although naturalised people have equal chances of course. A company can not ask if you are of African,European or Chinese origin, male, female, young or old. There are even moves afoot to allow anonymous resumés. Obviously they find out eventually and have their ways of dealing with it but coming straight out and asking is a punishable crime.

nah, their responses are usually pretty inaccurate, they say whatever comes into their head at the time.A few weeks back someone reported them as saying just 6K left, then we got a crowd of 18000 or something like that.

Although seeing how HMRC always give clubs more time to pay their debt you have to wonder if the Old Regime didn't get their payment priorities wrong. If we'd have given more money to Barclay's and fobbed off the revenue with excuses maybe we wouldn't even have been on -10 points. Although the old regime might still be in place.
-
Here you'd be up in front of a judge before the ink was dry at the printers.
-
Ooh la, an application form like that would land you in very hot water in France. Are you allowed to ask people their Ethnic Group in the UK then??

Then there was that other modelling shop a just a bit further down Below Bar on the other side of the street, spent a lot of time in there drooling over (and occasionally buying) bits of balsa wood and solid fuel rocket motors. That was just by the bus stop where you got the Number 14 to go home from the Swimming Baths. Couldn't possibly rtell you the name of it though -
the line up in the match before Leeds was something like Bart,James,Jaidi,Perry,Harding,Morgan,Hammond,Lallana,Antonio,Connolly,Lambert; Wotton came on often enough and Mellis and Trotman played their part. Murty played really few games for us, probably about the first 10 or 12 after that he got injured most of the time and was replaced by James. Then again we only played middling and poor teams most of the time; When the real tests like Leeds and Colchester came along we weren't so good.It was a team that could p*ss on Oldham though which we couldn't again at home later in the season.
-
But our best run came when we had none of the latest additions. It's probably just coincidental that it was before the JPT got serious and that we probably played no really good sides.Connolly was fit most of that period as was Murty (or I think he was, haven't checked) Hammond and Morgan was the bog standard midfield pairing and at the first hurdle after Morgan got injured we lost at Leeds.
