  1. I was and I hadn't ploughed nigh on 20 million into the club. I think it is absolutely abhorrent that we are to play in this sh*t league for another twelvemonth,SFC playing against Dagenham and Redbridge, Bournemouth and Exeter...beurkk
  2. all these additional costs are surely the result of maintaining a CCC level side in League 1.We needed to go up, NC said it a couple of times, we didn't and now the cost of that failure has to be met by the fans.
  3. Probably because we have bought two one Million £ + players and apparently need at least one more.Non success in League 1 this season obviously hasn't come cheaply, still we won the JPT
  4. Like the ones that got us into admin in the first place , it was perfectly obvious to many that money was going astray, if the club were absorbing the payment plan cost and then people were truanding on payments and still going to games for f*ck all then you can see why we had no money even if everything would seem to indicate that we should have
  5. maybe they were trying to find a payment plan provider at reasonable rates, on the other hand it could well be that the parent company ML5 million384.6... or whatever it is has a financial year ending 31st May and today we started a new one.
  6. But when everybody wanted tickets for just 1 match £58 plus the booking fee was no trouble whatsoever. Saints fans have dug their own pit by falling over themselves to pay over the odds for the JPT final. I can see NC's(and whoever else may be involved) reasoning. No one was skint for Wembley, they've given you time to stash a bit away so why should they expose you to the 15.9-17.1% APR loan sharks (cos that's what Premium Credit and Zebra Finance sting you for) Say you taken on a 380 ST at 16% APR, you'll end up paying about 420 quid for it and some loan shark will profit from it. Get a bank loan and you'll pay much less. You just have to cut out loan sharks and I'm sure Mr Cortese knows all about them. here's a Zebra form for West Ham, for a £385 ticket you end up paying about £418, http://www.foreverwesthamutd.co.uk/apply/docs/zebraFinanceApplication.pdf
  7. no we didn't, we got 12.5 million for him at the end of the day, we cashed in on add-ons but that was Crouch think.
  8. as usual these final deadlines are just a gee up for buyers or to get ransom money paid or whatever. Hardly anyone takes any notice of 'final delays' nowadays or any other interdiction for that matter. Unless you're prepare to carry out whatever sanction is on offer for not sticking to the deadline it's just all hot air. Can't remember who said it but Never issue menaces without being prepared to carry out the sanction is a good policy. Most Israeli governments swear by it.
  9. Now if there had been an instalment plan...
  10. To play for a club like Arsenal you have to be top class, if you don't progress then you won't play. This is the trouble with the big 5/6,if a player has 3 or 4 indifferent games then they'll just get someone else in.A young player should know this and accept it. Arsenal is a French dominated side, French players have a certain ethic in their way of life (apart from Ribery,Govou and Benzemma :)of course) Wenger would see this as the norm and any player that falls short of it will find himself out of the team. Better players than Walcott haven't really made it at really big clubs so he had very little chance. These clubs are driven by their need to make the CL every year and will let nothing get in the way of that. TW may well come good eventually but I really doubt that it will be with Arsenal.Benzemma hasn't really worked out at Real either and Domenech had no qualms about kicking him out of the final squad either, that's not Real's fault, they have better players and use them.
  11. In fact Lowe getting 12 million for him was a really smart piece of business.Especially as he could have just walked away for nothing a couple of months down the line.
  12. Why blame Wenger? Theo was a big fish in a small pond, now he's a small fish in a big pond.
  13. All pace,no brain, a fairly common problem with a lot of football's "stars". The better players have some sort of cogital process because basic footballing skills can be imparted to most people. In the younger categories the non thinkers usually show up better, because running after the ball impresses most people. When you get to a certain level it's never enough and you need footballing brain to go with the dashes down the wing and the ball juggling.
  14. Some of those lads charge about 17% APR and I think the club are to be lauded for not exposing fans to that sort of usury.
  15. I've been reading Portail Vert 51 (ASSE Forum), the news has reached them (via reports from the Sun) and they are quite surprised that it would cost them 1 million euros for a Division 3 player, obviously a lot of idiots on there as well. Stock played very little part in doncaster's campaign last season so wherever they finished wasn't much to do with him.
  16. And obtaining a reduced price in exchange, there is an instalment plan, pay for your ticket every other week at the ground.Club must know that there would be a minor fuss about this so they really must know why they're doing it. Probably something to do with not inciting people to take on credit which they may not be able to afford.
  17. still he comes from Winchester (or somewhere around there) and does facebook so that makes him good right !! We could do so much better than he, by keeping Morgan for starters.
  18. AP could probably buy someone more suited to League 1 yes, but it would take a lot of money to buy someone as good as Morgan who will never be a real force at this level.THe lads talents are by far superior to our league, those of players around him are detrimental to them. It's a strange situation but not unknown, if you drop say Giggs or Lampard to this level they would probably be far less effective than they actually are, it's football,
  19. not much of a history book then, Corsica was ceded to France by the Kingdom of Genoa in 1768, ie one year before Napoleon's birth. He was born in Corsica after it became part of France. Before unification in about 1860 Italy as we know it was just a mishmash of kingdoms, duchies and papal states.
  20. Probably not yet, it was an "up to"sum. Trouble is playing in League 1 isn't good for any talented player, gives them bad habits and they lose value. I watched most of the Toulon Festival games and the same comment kept recurring on the Franch commentaries "League 1 that's like playing in the National (french semi pro third division)isn't it, that's a strange choice he made there" they didn't seem to know anything about our relegation or troubles last year.Playing for Saints is damaging his standing and will continue to do so, so he might well accept a lower Ligue 1 club to get out of it if enough pressure is put on him to do s. Don't mind myself, I watch StE about 15 games a season so I'd certainly gain in the exchange.
  21. two possible reasons, the sun drenched beaches or the number of drug dealers per square foot.
  22. except that they were probably doctors and lawyers back in their country of origin.Still never mind it would probably give a couple of less cerebral punters a chance...although they'll probably find it too demeaning for them. That's the problem in the UK nobody wants the sh*t jobs any more with long hours and good pay, they want short hours and even better pay and illimited internet access during working hours of course.
  23. It's probably taking a long time because they need it to take a long time, probably because if it doesn't we will make a profit and have to hand over money to the tax man.Don't doubt that we'll be hearing something very soon, end of the week maybe.
  24. As would any top 5/6 EPL side, because they themselves are composed uniquely of high class internationals.
