  1. They've got that wrong then, South Africa should be Skatesville, loads of violent crime, everyone lives in hovels and it's full of pikeys.Holding the WC in such a place is asking for trouble, like having all cup finals and play-offs games in Portsmouth, bastards won't go unless it's free.
  2. I was down at Guichard the other day, helping with the younger players, didn't hear any rumours about Morgan though.Still could have been some sort of informal approach when he was down in Toulon I suppose. It's no secret that the FFF want him playing at what they consider to be a higher level, St Etienne doesn't fit that description though, not really. What is more it's all very political down there just now the sporting director has just quit after a row ith the president and Galtier (the coach) is under review.
  3. Although I would doubt that Nicola thinks he has made either of these "mistakes". to me pricing is about right and he obviously has his reasons for delaying season tickets sales .
  4. Wouldn't selling season tickets twice in the same financial year throw the books out a bit and lead to prospective increased taxation?
  5. ah right, if you hear it in Trevor Mitchell's it must be true.....or it used to be anyway, all the lads used to go there, talked to Lawrie Mac in there once.
  6. Morgan looked far better in last night's game, recovered a lot of balls and used them pretty well; Got injured when a pair of crunching sliding tackles collided for a 50/50 ball.Went off with a knock at the top of the shin apparently, looked in no little discomfort and they were applying ice packs to it.
  7. I think the problem with the French in this game was the superior physical condition of the Danes. Most of them are older than the French lads and a couple have already played at full international level. Morgan looked pretty knackered really,as did most of his team-mates, probably because he's played 4 games in 8 days, because of the straight red that a French player got in the first game and the two yellows that Belhanda had run up thus eliminating him from the Denmark game. I'm not sure that the very deep role that he seemed to have been given really suits him either.
  8. You could always do like others and contribute to the 5 million work hours lost last Friday by Google's Pacman 30th birthday issue.
  9. He'd better be quick about it then, fitness assessment starts in just over a week ..or I think it does anyway.
  10. Not a great start from them either, Tomlinson pummeled for 26 off his first 2 overs, Cork a bit less, 11 off 10 balls
  11. And there you go Neil Mckenzie gets us there with a 6, good bloke will now become a cult hero no doubt
  12. Millwall probably banked on them being an easier option than ourselves, which is why they let them win at a canter in April. Most of us thought they'd give Huddersfield a good beating on that fateful Friday night but Millwall didn't turn up...wonder why.
  13. not on French Eurosport, they were pretty impressed, said he'd hardly put a foot wrong all night and looked pretty useful. Although think the silly yellow he got was for something because that ref was a real knob, it's not our lads' fault if the Colombians decide to send their under 5s is it?
  14. The Espoirs are in fact the U23s, it's a category that runs throughout French sport between Juniors 18/19 yrs and Seniors which start at 23. In the group which has gone to Argentina there are players who are nearly 23 and some 19 year olds. These players are basically playing for or on the fringes of French Ist division clubs or playing overseas. Morgan looked pretty good last night,as if he was used to regular first team football. That Russian ref was a real a/h though, kept whistling up for stuff that would go unnoticed in any regular football match. As for the sending off, well it was deserved of course, but as per usual he should have sent them both off, the Colombian slapped the French lad who then retaliated. FIFA has to clamp down on the original offender as well as the player who retaliates as it's hardly ever the case at the moment. A last note, the overhead kick expert was just on loan from Auxerre to Dijon last season, now wouldn't he be a great loan replacement for Papa?
  15. These are the U20s to be exact, the Espoirs (U23s) have gone off to Argentina for a couple of matches against the Argentine U23s . I am really looking forward to tonight's game, hope that Morgan starts and shows the difference between a player who's getting regular first team competitive football and 19/20 year olds who are hanging about on the edge of bigger clubs. Another one to watch Marvin Esor who'll probably play RB for the French, chose to go and play in Ligue 2 with Arles-Avignon instead of hanging around in Bordeaux's reserves. Saw him when AA played Clermont a while back, looked like one hell of a player on that occasion.
  16. Especially as there's a new rule in the EPL about naming a squad of 25 senior players only of which 8 must be home grown (ie with an English or Welsh club for 3 years before they turn 21) I don't know much about Wolves squad and how they stand on that though. I think Manchester Cityesque squads are over and done with though, guess they're be a lot of loan players available this summer.
  17. Which is a relatively big total for a 19/20 year old
  18. Looks like he might have changed his mind since then. L'Equipe doesn't usually get things wrong http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2010/20100518_134451_ballack-va-porter-plainte.html
  19. Ghana and Germany being in the same qualifying group I guess.
  20. in fact it would seem that some mischievous scamp (or scampess) is feeding crap to the Mail about Saints related things just to make them look silly...as if there was any need to help them in that.
  21. Wow ,a nearly year old Surman thread resurrected to compliment the 2 we have already today. Marcel Proust told us that we should leave beautiful women to men with no imagination, wonder what he would say about going on and on and on about recently departed players who haven't quite made it in promised lands.
  22. Stock has had major injury problems of late, would need to see him in action over a continued period before I personally took a chance on hiring him.
  23. Only because Pinnacle (and the gullible fools who championed their campaign and produced 500K deposits) kept the real McCoy waiting in the wings.
