  1. He'll be 22 very shortly and any chance of an international career is passing him by.He won't get noticed in League 1 and money just isn't everything, in fact for most it's a bit secondary. Sporting excellence is what counts and he won't find that in League 1.If Weston says he's likely to stay then I'll take his word for it but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he does move on this summer all the same.Perhaps he's a Le Tiss bis.
  2. NC said he wanted better results, better football wasn't specified.
  3. I think we have to give 25% of whatever we get for him to Bournemouth anyway. We shall no doubt learn his attitude towards the whole affair when contract talks commence as he just has 1 year left on his present one.
  4. different case, Williams was sold by McMenemy in a fit of pique for some dressing room row or other.
  5. 6 points off.No game in hand
  6. what fans would that be then?
  7. Although Barcelona looked distinctly shaky last week when Wenger decided Arsenal had nothing left to lose and started taking the game to them a bit.
  8. I tried sniffing coke, kept cutting my nose on the can.
  9. I wouldn't . I'm not really convinced he knows what he's doing at this level. He'll be OK in the Championship but I think League 1 football goes under his radar a bit sometimes. For League 1 I'd take Wilson or Jackett over Pardew any time...but now that he's here I guess he'd better get on with it.
  10. [quote name= danny wilson...ffs, I wonder what we would have thought if he was appointed ahead of pardew..? j/QUOTE] When you can take Barnsley to the Premier League I guess you know what you're doing most of the time.
  11. Correct attitude, it's just one more junkie in a world full of them.
  12. Now in an automatic promotion place as well. Whatever they're doing..that's the way to do it.
  13. do you not remember the old easter trilogies ? Three games in 4 days..Friday,Saturday, Monday sorted the men from the boys and often decided promotion and relegation issues.
  14. my spies in Brittany tell me he won't, he'll be playing for one of three other clubs, all of them in with a chance of promotion to the EPL. Perhaps that'll change if they actually get there though.
  15. Oh I think that NC will consider this as a below par season, have little doubt about it.What he does about it is what matters though.
  16. Charlton will be a tough game, they'll come for a point and we'll have to break them down. Depends if we have Morgan available, be interesting to see him compared to Racon.
  17. But we won't achieve the "minimum" ie getting into the play-offs. I'm not worried about it but the play-offs were a minimum requirement just a couple of weeks back. What happens when that minimum isn't achieved I have absolutely no idea. It's not the fans who keep on and on and on about the play-offs, it's the staff and players.
  18. But it's not about just Colchester. Huddersfield have 7 winnable games out of 8.That's more than enough to put us right out of the picture. If they win 5 of them we'll be toast on the play-off front.
  19. It's still 8 points that we've got to make up come what may. What I am saying is that the more teams above us (whatever the points difference may be) the less chance we have of making up the difference over all of them will be. If we were to win all of our games then Colchester would have to not win at least 4, Huddersfield at least 3 etc etc etc. With each game that we fail to make up points over all of them the difficulty increases.
  20. Colchester really aren't the best barometer to use.If they fail then Huddersfield probably won't. Our chances of reaching the POs depends on what happens to 3 or 4 teams, not just Colchester. If they lose today Huddersfield could move above them by beating Wycombe tomorrow.Nothing changes for us, we're still 11 points off of the play-offs all the same.Even Brizzle and MK Dons are still in the mix if the Us nose dive, providing Huddersfield do the same.
  21. The goal is to be in the play-offs or so it would seem. Otherwise they should just stop talking about them and get on with preparing next season.
  22. Maybe he's working on a contract for next season...elsewhere. Doubt if he's on much of deal with us tbh.
  23. I can envisage a change this summer, whether it will happen or not I've no idea. I just don't think NC is the type of guy who'll take a shot on another below par season but then again maybe he's not the only one who decides. What I would like to see is AP continuing as manager for the whole of next season but with some far more astute and adventurous coaches at his side because to me Dean Wilkins and Wally Downes just aren't what we need, too staid, too old school.
  24. Kenny Jackett ??
  25. Progress has been made but not consistently enough.
