i would like to think..with a massively expensive league 1 squad we had the players, staff, manager, resources, facilities (that nearly ALL in league 1...most in the CCC and some in the prem would love to have) would mean we had enough about us to finish comfortably above relegation from -10.. you mentioned leeds above...they got to the playoffs from -15...

he will keep his job....we have to show signs of a winning team near the end of the season to even be taken seriously of promotion the year after.. scraping safety will NOT be good preparation

add colchester...lost their manager, staff, captain and players AFTER the season had started...talk about ripping the heart out of a team after the transfer window had shut...

that is my hope...but should he lead us to league 2 it wont be because we had no pre season..it will be because he could not cut it....

so were other clubs.. charlton, norwich, stockport, bristol rovers (to a lesser extent)... all clubs in the lower leagues have problems... we just have a turning circle of a super tanker everytime we hit one..

one thing that I like about pardew (unlike many on here) he is quick to say it when things were not good enough....

look at rovers...they lost their main man...their best player to US...they could not even comprehend competing..hey they have picked themselves right up and gone for it... we lose our "best player" as we have to have a period of consolidation and excuses... there was a thread a while ago questioning the mentality of the club etc.. you only have to look at the fans who strive for mediocracy and anyone who wants/expects the club to produce more all the time (ie, bettering themselves) is called negative or unrealistic.. even if we dont sign another player..he have a squad of players that SHOULD be waaay up the league...not fighting it out with john barnes' tranmere

leeds went on a rampaging run in league 1 and nearly went up from -15.... stockport were also in administration and would be happy to spend £1m in the next 5 years on players...we did that to get a striker...

but we keep signing these good players that 20 other clubs above us (who have won more) would dream of having.. while the likes of stockport can win the odd game with no money, no prospects, no confidence..we have to plough more and more money...we will be buying wins at this rate....

why..? charlton, then taking saints down to league 2 would be why..? people were hardly banging his door down in the first place..hence why he is in league 1.....(of which I am pretty glad) but taking saints down to league 2 would pretty much finish him off as a decent manager for a looooong time..

it really is.... new players, new manager, new owners...apart from kelvin, morgan and lallana...people have come in should be full of confidence... phrases like SoG stated just sound good for an excuse..

some people (if any) would be retarded if they wanted to stick with pardew if he took us down to league 2 just for the sake of continuity...

if we went down. pardew would be finished at any club worth their salt...and rightly so

to potentionally have more singers in one place is good news.. if this meant that one day (in a higher division) the WHOLE northam was allocated to home fans and away fans had the itchen corner...(if that could be done) then again...good decision.... one thing they will have to do...for FA cup games (thinking in the future here) they the away allocation will go back into the northam due to the extra ticketing requirements

cant go today as back in plymouth...will be going to the MK Dons game.. we played very well for 15 mins or so in each half in the week....against gillingham, that alone SHOULD be enough to finish them off... the players need to come out like they did in the 2nd half tuesday as rovers then, did not know what hit them... 3-0 saints

if we actually start to go on a winning streak.. if the next 10 league games only brings us 2 wins then it will be a dull table..for saints fans failure to win today is not acceptable

so, we would need to win 6 MORE games than all the teams between us and 6th place so far, we have won 1 in 10
