well played I say played at the highest level of sport, played for some of the most illustrious clubs in the world...in the face of un precedented media scrutiny and a devoted family man does massive amounts for sport in England, helped with the olympics and works tirelessly for charity.. when it could be easier to retire in LA and never be seen again in a world when our national game has NO other role models...he stands head and shoulders above anyone.. if getting 5 gold medals was the only bench mark..the no one will ever get one again les ferdinand and alan shearer have been knighted..yet have achieved no where near what beckham has or does fair play becks
