personally...I think instead of clamouring for the individual coppers to be hung drawn and quatered..questions should be asked about the operating procedures in these events... comparing this to whacking a copper is stupid...it really is stupid.... was the copper within his powers to do what he did...had this man refused to "move on quicky"....had the police warned him that they would use a baton against him if he did not move on quickly..? they are entitled to tell you to move quickly BTW....was this man trying to be awkward....were the police trying (quickly) to clear the area but this man was not complying..? we just dont know...although, someone does... tragic yes...but simply saying this copper should be charged is daft...charged of what..? did this action definately cause this death..? did the copper act outside his legal powers...? maybe, the answer is no...

you are right...he pushed him...much like someone rattled a fence or threw a bottle top after the pompey game...both are hardly "violent acts"..just one led to a serious unfortunate result....as both circumstances could...

simply bollix....when I got caught in the 2000 mayday riots (it was a farking riot..people crapping in the streets and smashing shops up)....I spoke to the police..(who initially pushed me around) and they let me through....and off home I went to camdem...walking most of the way I will add

he was clearly pushing the boundries...he was hardlt clearing the area...he was being awkward.....his death is tragic..but maybe, do what the police tell you and how they tell you on days like that and you will go home safe and sound

I have been caught in the middle of one of these types of riots...those who claim to be "pushed around" by the police push the police to the limit....these sort of people take a dump im the fryers at maccy d's

cruise missiles and bombs offer NOTHING like the capability of a trident missile...also, the expertise, facilities etc etc for the trident are in place....then you go down the operational capability route..which a submarine launched missiles wins every time with your last line..of course I will agree....the RN can make up (at any one time) about 25% of the forces in afghanistan...which increases if a large contingent of royal marines arrive....the ships/subs are at breaking point on anti-piracy, anti-drugs, relief and intel/recon patrols and get little recognition at the same time, have had to deal with major cuts to its front line units/personnel over the last 10 years or so...at the same time being the smallest force.... there is a saying have heard..."those that CAN, do so with the navy or the army, those that CANT enjoy the RAF" we had an admiral come down and visit recently and he refered to labour as "that lot"....and said that it was a breath of fresh air when Liam Fox was appointed as defence secretary...he is actually pro-navy....

I agree with increasing the navy...we are an island nation ffs...if we are going to go down the "self defence" route...having a large(er) navy makes sense

dont care about that...I will be in the position soon enough to spend upto £25k on a car (well...20-22k cash and mine with px)...and would love to get a real piece of kit like that.. I really wanted to get a porsche..however, reading up about them is nothing but horrific running and aftercare costs...makes you wonder if porsche do this on purpose...then you have the RMS snags they have...which means a total engine rebuild.. I have had a BMW M3..and they are appealling again...but a merc like that would be fantastic
