only Armstrong and maybe Archer will fit into what WS wants, the others are far too lazy. WS likes high press, high energy making runs, cant see the others doing that.

Well it could be worse but im actually encouraged from what ive heard about him. Pressing football, organised defence, uses the wings a lot, wants his players playing fwd diagonal balls as much as possible, encourages his players to take on defenders to open up areas, likes the 4231/433 formation but will switch to a 352 formation when against certain opposition, much better than play my way or your out. Looking fwd to next season now.

Sounds all good, much better than that possession based football Martin insisted on, be interesting who he insists stays and who he wants gone. He will inherit a pretty good Championship side but for his high press to work he will need to get them 200% fitter than what they were this season, he needs young legs but maybe a few older wiser heads in their as well, be interesting how it all works out and if any of our so called stars would stay under a pretty unknown manager.

Aribo wants to go, Dibling wants to stay, id say if our owner shows some balls, we should keep him and try and keep Fernandes for one season and try and build a team like we once did. Selling and rebuilding isnt working, keeping a team together is the key to success, then staying in the prem will get him more money over time.

you do know most teams have gone to 3 at the back now, especially in the pressing style that he uses. He wants at least 1 CB to be aggressive when his team has the ball meaning he'll press into a midfield position to allow others to press high. He also wants his wingbacks to press high, so its more like 2 at the back when we have the ball, nothing wrong with that at all.

Maybe he will get Enter Sandman playing when the two teams come out to fire us all up, that would be great!

For me it has to be Rohl. I've always liked the high pressing style that Poch brought to us, you don't need "super stars" for it to work unlike the possession based system that Martin tried to make work, you just need super fit players that can just keep running and the knowledge to press in groups and rotate positions when needed. Unlike Ralph, he likes to use a number of formations, 4231 and 343 being his go to ones but he likes to switch it up depending on his opposition (plan b,c etc) which i think is great. He just has that Poch effect aura about him and im pretty sure if we go down, he would know the players he would like to keep to make it work in the championship. He's made Charles a bloody good player for them, something Martin couldn't do so who knows, he may even make some of our players into something good as well. We would need a new cdm as he likes to use 2, so that's at least one player that we would need to get in the window unless we have a recall option on Charles or we have a hidden gem in the academy?

We can only hope Villa don't turn up

That would be fine with me if they play a good style of football like the high press. The Bournemouth manager was pretty unknown and they play a good pressing style of football. I do wonder why we didnt keep following up by getting in high pressing managers, we bought it to the premier league when Poch came to us, Koeman played the pressing style slightly different and Ralph brought it back after a few disasters, that style of football is becoming pretty popular over in Germany. It's certainly a better style than the style we currently play now. Maybe there is a hidden gem abroad that would be willing to rebuild a team in the Championship, Leeds managed to get Bielsa so why not.

ive said this a thousand times, we probably had the best championship squad last season before he came in and he almost screwed that up with a horrendous style that never suited our players, we were promoted due to a few individual players that were just too good for that league.
-
agree, we have been lucky today
-
we have been very very lucky
-
yet another last minute loan signing that we didnt really need and yes he's pretty crap. We should of used Sam Amo instead and got him experience instead of giving experience to other clubs players.
-
He almost F@@ked that up as well when having probably the best squad in the league, yes we had a very good championship squad already in place and we still do and thats the problem.
-
Go all out for Potter and hope he can turn a bunch of championship players into something that is better than what Martin can muster up then let him have a massive say who to bring in next season like he did at Brighton.
