Its a myth its a "one is bad as the other" thing. Its all coming from Matt. Hes been using his influence at Sky to snipe at Saints for quite a while now. It started at Skys coverage of the JPT final (when he was really stirring) continued with Jeff Stelling rant against Cortese (with Matt sat in the background smiling smugly) and is still going on now. What has Cortese done wrong ? Think about it Matt is using his influence to continually snipe at the current owners and then expects Priority treatment from the club ? I suspect MLT still feels a prat supporting the Pinnacle bid (which nearly destroyed our club BTW) and is also bitter at being portrayed as a Saints expert by the media when in fact he knows **** all about what is going on these days.

I'll just pick some results we endured in seasons where we didnt get relegated that stick in the mind. Losing 7-0 away to an average Everton (if I remember correctly we stuffed Boro 4-0 the following week) , 3-0 up at home against Ipswich we drew 3-3, losing 2-0 at home to a poor Blackburn. There are many more. We may stay up we may get relegated but the Premier League is what we have strived for. Enjoy the ride.

I think this is another example of where a fanontheboard would be useful. For complete democratic openness with the fans who of course always know best we could operate a twitter style site. At the end of each season we could provide a full list of our transfer targets coupled with the players who are surplus to requirements.Add to that a breakdown of our finances so other clubs know how much we can spend.There could also be a function where fans could post any rumours and the fanontheboard (or maybe the club historian) could respond to within seconds. With current technology it would be easy to provide an interactive map which could show where our scouts are, where transfer negotiations are happening, maybe even track private plane flights and so forth. If nothing else it would reduce the amount of wet beds in the area.
