  1. Boruc is, dare I say it, 'injury prone'. Gazza isn't gonna be our next no, 1 and let's be honest, Kelvin is nowhere near the picture so as it stands, we really only have 1 goalie to call upon. Bringing in another top class keeper will only push Boruc on. Plus he's 34, 35 in February - not got long left now...
  2. Marshall was outstanding last year for Cardiff but Forster has a big future ahead of him. Excelled at Norwich in Lg1 and now consistently a top performer for Celtic in SPL and Champs League. Also now well in the national picture and appears to be highly rated in the England camp. I'd go for Forster, especially with age well on his side (26) but as Marshall is 29 but is / should however be at his peak so tough choice.
  3. Can now definitely see someone like Fraser Forster coming in.
  4. Very good appointment on the face of it.
  5. Story going wild now. Think this one is done @BBCSport: Sammy Lee turns down assistant manager job at Brighton - more soon http://t.co/5GNCeAfek0 http://t.co/hMtPODtk9U @bigadamsport: Sammy Lee set to join #saintsfc coaching team after rejecting move to Brighton #bhafc #lfc @MailSport: BREAKING: Sammy Lee has joined the coaching staff at @SouthamptonFC
  6. Interesting that he was head of academy at Bolton - but even they are saying he is coming to work alongside Koeman. Maybe it it'll be a half and half role - bridging the gap between the first and development squads.

  8. @OfficialBWFC: LEE TO JOIN SOUTHAMPTON: #BWFC can announce that Sammy Lee is now set to join the coaching staff at @SouthamptonFC.
  9. Think he'll be part of the first team coaching setup. Apart from Ronald and Erwin, we haven't really got another coach, only Jan and he's more fitness based. Random fact: Sammy Lee is 'nicknamed' BBC (balls, bibs, cones)
  10. He's an absolute predator in the box. Something we lacked big style last season. If him and Pelle are coming, I am inclined to think a 5-3-2 is on the cards. Seem the 'perfect' partnership. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. SimonPeach: I am told #Eng & #SaintsFC left-back @LukeShaw3's move to #MUFC should be confirmed on Friday morning. Deal worth £27million plus add-ons. SimonPeach: .@LukeShaw3 underwent a medical at #MUFC's training ground on Thursday night & will be first-choice left-back at Old Trafford.
  12. Wow, that escalated quickly! @MailSport: BREAKING: Luke Shaw is at Carrington now for his Manchester United medical http://t.co/x4DI3abqxM
  13. David Anderson from the Mirror @MirrorAnderson: Shaw's fee is £30m Plus.
  14. @GraemeBailey: Confirmed that Southampton left-back Luke Shaw is due to have medical at Manchester United.
  15. BBCSport: .@SouthamptonFC left back Luke Shaw set for a medical at @ManUtd report @solentsport - more soon http://t.co/Y2jZqFz4Ge
  16. Good. Get it settled. Not at all disappointed to lose him. Fantastic amount of money to receive. £30m+ for an 18 yr old. We do not need a world class LB. Expect a move for Timothee Kolodciejak now and/or Bruno Martins-Indi. Both more than adequate for us.
  17. From what I can gather, Koeman's style is much more direct, but not from long balls. Very much always look for the forward pass, exploit the flanks, pacy players. Going to be a big contrast from last couple of seasons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lukaku

Look if we could get Lukaku, we'd be set up for 6+ seasons because his goals would propel us up the table and on the fringes of Europe, no question about that. Get in Europe, and he'd stay, fail to get in Europe however and he'd be poached instantly.
  20. Well done Jay. Been on Twitter a day and already favourited a tweet from a Spurs fan calling him a 'Yido'. Will only stir this one up now...
  21. The system is 5-2-1-2 ---------GK--------- ----CB--CB--CB--- RWB------------LWB ------CM--CM------ --------CAM-------- ------ST-----ST----- The CB's have to be versatile and comfortable being forced wide, which currently, Lovren and Fonte are. One of the 3 will look to bring the ball out of defence. The team will naturally play very narrow and then look to ping the pass wide to the marauding wing back. The 2 CM jobs are to defend and recycle possession to the CAM and wing backs. The CAM always needs to be available in the number 10 pocket. He then picks up the ball and looks to drive forward with the 2 ST playing on the shoulders of the 2 opposition CB's. Whichever side the play is on, the opposite wing back needs to be drifting in and joining the rest of the attack to create a 2 / 3 men overload in the penalty area. Very simple concept but much more difficult to implement. One thing you might well see is the back three often scrambling and running back towards our own goal as they will be dragged out of position covering for the wing backs. Superb system when it pays off (chile, holland, Feyenoord) but can take a good month or so to implement and get used to in a game situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Released. I genuinely expect a reveal on 1st July.
