  1. Yep remember that game well - they seemed more interested in singing that song than responding to any action on the pitch. Became pretty amusing once we started bartering them.
  2. There was a bit of bad blood in L1, though frankly most of it came from Brighton and their Adkins complex. The championship fixtures were pretty tepid affairs -by which time we were streets ahead of them- though I do remember the ref stitching us up at their Amex.
  3. It's certainly keeping Stuart Taylor busy.
  4. It depends where those three passes start from. Not every attack or phase of possession starts from your own box.
  5. And you’d rather swim across the Ganges open-mouthed than be objective and give any of our former managers and players credit. Vomit-inducing indeed pal.
  6. Pony. He did in the sense that he added millions to some of our players value, giving Koeman a substantial budget to rebuild with. Lallana went from a player that people wanted to drop and felt wouldn’t make the step up to a regular England international and a £25m man (probably £50m+ in today’s money). And yes he did a leave a number of players improved -you might say that the likes of Schneiderlin were already on an upwards trajectory, though I’d argue he kicked on under MP (as the player himself admits). With others like Fonte, the improvement was even more obvious.
  7. Given his efforts a few pages ago, did Jihadi John take the Britain: Best at Inventing course? http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/university-of-life-strongly-biased-towards-brexit-20171026138038 Beyond parody
  8. I think Long offers more away from home where teams will come out and leave more space open. At home, against a side that's happy to sit back, he's much less useful.
  9. Not really. You're confuing two different things: pressing and winning the ball and creating chances. Just because we decide to be negative after we've won the ball doesn't mean we haven't pressed effectively to begin with. SKD's observation was a good one: any meaningful pressing stat should take account of where possession is won e.g. in the opponent's final third, in the middle of the pitch or nearer our own goal.
  10. I can tell, you're bit of a Sean Dyche man.
  11. Nice strawman, Lord P.
  12. Gimmicks, marketing garnish and branding campaigns from hipsters in Hoxton or Brixton seem to define what UK PLC is about is in 2017, not just saints. Utterly depressing stuff.
  13. Garbage in, garbage out.

  16. As is filming yourself answering your iphone with the full name of your accomplice/associate on display. Was half-expecting a cameo appearance from Matty 'mastermind' Targett. Seems like they've been caught before -so unless any are ST holders, suspect they'll get away with a slap on the wrist. No big deal, even if pranks go wrong is a decent youtube niche in which to kill a few mins.
  17. We played much better away from home than at home. The usual divs blindly reel off defeats at Swansea, Hull, Everton but in those all games we were much the better side and would have picked up points but for a proper goal scorer. I thought we were a much tougher proposition under Puel than Koeman, notwithstanding the results. The mystery will always remain the soporific home form.
  18. This would be my shout too.
  19. Only some extent. Its like comparing English hooligans to Russian hooligans. One is amateurish and for a laugh; the other has a death wish and borders on the psychopathic.
  20. It was bit of an issue for the usual suspects. And don’t forget the blue tie...

  22. *VVD was injured. Arguably two of United’s goals don’t happen if he’s playing. *United comfortably won the first leg of their EUROPA tie, so were able to rest players for the second leg before the final. *Poor officiating cost us a goal.
  23. For Glasgow, it’ll be heads he wins, tails you lose. If Puel fails, it’ll vindicate his original assessment of Puel. If Puel succeeds, he can blame Uncle Les for meddling and not supporting Puel in the transfer market.
  24. The word according to Heisenberg being treated as gospel on FoxesTalk. They choose the one poster whose skin Puel singularly got under
