  1. Jeff, I've really got under your skin, haven't i? Believe or not, it doesn't feel good making a fool of you. So if you want to learn something, you might want to check my quick thoughts on the match -see I actually go to games. No need to thank me - it's on the house

  3. Clattenberg's explanation made no sense, did a shanking action with his foot. As if Henderson was attempting a blind pass around the corner with the outside of his foot

  5. No, not least at the start of the match. Didn't wait around to see at final whistle. Saying that, didn't acknowledge the Kop either when he came out for the second half.

  7. Got a good reception, even if our lot insisted on that cringeworthy poetry in motion chant. Tadic got the best reception, followed by Wanyama, then Morgan and Fonte.

  11. Back from the game. Plenty of encouraging signs and we created the better chances. Liverpools fans very complimentary about performance, drawing a contrast between our positivity and Chelsea's cynicism last season. Still it will mean nothing if we don't get a result against WBA who we were expected to beat. Being underdogs certainly helped today. Big difference between this season and last season was Wanyama. The pace was too much for him then. Not the case today as he was an absolute beast. Liverpool seemed to be much slower in the middle of the park. Playing JWP in the hole allowed him to monitor Gerrard and his pîss poor pirlo parody. Interesting to see whether this is a one-off or a sign of things to came on. Only when Allen came on, replacing the lumbering Lucas did they have a bit more joy. Still, our CM remains one of the best in the prem -assuming Morgan stays and knocks off the post-WC rust. That alone should assure why we'll be OK, regardless what happens elsewhere on the pitch. Really liked Tadic-so precise and ruthless with his touches- nothing is gratuitous. If I'm being critical, it's that his crossing let him down, though we were unlikely to flood the box with JWP our most advanced player after Pelle. Our front players don't seem to have the same licence to roam as under MP; for instance, would love to see Tadic take up some more central positions -perhaps in the role occupied by JWP. Pelle looked lost for most of the first half - far too stationary. Looked better as he came to the ball more -rather than waiting for it- and got closer to JWP but the jury is out. Also seems reluctant to take on a shot. Bertrand was very good; more composed than I have seen him. Our play was a bit unbalanced. Most good things went down his side in the first half; but was more quiet in the second half as Clyne provided more impetus. Guess bringing in a winger will allow us to be more balanced in how we use the pitch. Forster didn't have much to do, though he did make one scary clearance that went straight to a Liverpool player and could have been easily punished. Otherwise, assume he's instructed to be more direct with his distribution. Yoshida had a decent game, contrary to the booboys claims. Would have been nice to see him and Fonte to push as they frequently emptied the area around the edge of the box, though Sturridge and Sterlings pace had something to do with their backing off. Lovren invariably got stick, though didn't understand the Lambert love-in. Did seem genuinely touched when he first ran the line; but the chants went on and on, even as we were attacking. Should have left it for the final whistle. At least, Morgan's reception was a bit more mature.

  15. It was outside Liverpool Lime Street- most people wouldn't have seen it because it was on a revolving billboard with five other ads. Harmless guff.

    Paul Lambert, you prat.
  20. Agree - but something about release clauses and being powerless to hold onto wantaway players
  21. Palace at home is as easy as it gets.
  22. The saving grace is that Boruc was pretty injury-prone for a keeper. We are vulnerable if we're forced to rely on Davis/Gazzanigga but can't see Forster missing much, if any, time.
  23. Siri can't even tell me where my local chippie is -never mind predict the football.
  24. We conceded 27 goals in the second half while we scored 26 - pretty much even. We actually outscored teams during certain periods of the second. Indeed we were most vulnerable at the start of the second half (joint) which doesn't fit into a nice story about us being exhausted. The more persuasive explanation is that we lacked quality off the bench.
