  1. Is this the famous scouse sense of the absurd I hear all about [insert picture of Roger McGough wearing a fedora talking to a cabbage]? Or do you take your cues from Stuart Hall?
  2. Clasie is more of a challenge to Davis/JWP.
  3. Agree. The loudest the SMS got was the reaction to the baggies fans who thought they had scored from a header. Summed up the day and atmosphere perfectly.
  4. See West Brom have signed Varela, the Porto winger, on a season-long loan. A pretty decent move.
  5. Where have I disrespected or mocked those with the condition? Far from it. While you have the time, perhaps you can extend the same message to those who are taking the challenge since I haven't seen much in the way of education or details where one can donate. What I do see is alot of matey backslapping and celebrity lookatmeism.
  6. Surely the mistake is an argument for more technology, not less.
  7. And cue the two-bit poster
  8. A two-bit challenge and a two-bit pop. We've got our club back#
  9. Good, confident game - for a big man, got down well for Ideye's shot.
  10. We looked cack with both Long and Pelle on the pitch, at least using a 4-3-3. They looked like a poor man's version of the Lambert and Osvaldo dilemma we failed to resolve last season. Long struggled on the right hand side. Unless Long plays behind Pelle, effectively in the hole or we go to a diamond, very hard to see how the two would start - in other words, we would still have striking options from the bench. A right winger is the priority.
  11. At least, the MC, Steve Bennett has now got a little friend.
  12. Which is what we did under MP for a period of time (around last October); that said, we rarely played JWP and Davis together (along with Victor/Morgan which is just overkill). When JWP was operating on the right, Lallana was in the hole. And ultimately JWP was dislodged by Davis. If we stick with 4-3-3, hopefully we bring in a right winger to partner with Clyne -and either Davis or possibly Taider play in the hole -note that's where Taider featured in the WC. Even Gaston could go there depending on the opposition.
  13. Was absolutely pathetic - even worse, it started in the first half.
  14. Same thing was said about Long; and now Welbeck is available.
  15. Agree- feels like something has been lost by watering down the pressing. The irony is that our best chances from open play came from (unforced) West Brom mistakes, something which a pressing game is meant to induce. Perversely we had plenty of hardworking players on the pitch -in lieu of real creativity; yet we lacked aggression and intensity. People keep banging on about us failing break teams down last season. What they overlook is not only that we created chances (whereas we didn't today); but more important that by giving West Brom space to play today, we looked much more vulnerable than in the past.
  16. Fox and Guly needed replacing. Pelle is going to be a firm boo-boy favourite.
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deI3MyCUp2E Do remember this at OT against Real.
  18. Actually, he had a v.decent chance in the first half -ball played in on the floor to the near post. Couldn't keep it down - perhaps should have done better with it.
  19. That's right they were a top half side
  20. So spectacularly gash that in 2012/13 he was runner up to Winston Reid for West Ham player of the year. Carry on.
  21. Its based on a rigorous paper from physicists at MIT - so its not any old thing from the internet. If glossy graphics that draw on Israel's reported figures are your thing, fill your boots. In the real world, Israel refuses to release all its unvarnished data. Surprised anyone even lets you near a potato peeler.
  22. The sieve reference is just for you - stick to peeling spuds. http://blogs.reuters.com/great-debate/2014/07/25/israels-iron-dome-is-more-like-an-iron-sieve/
  23. I would take most of those keepers over our second choices Harper, Elliot (who produced the best keeping performance i saw at a saints game last season), Jaaskeleinen (weakish on cross, but excellent shot stopper), Pantillomon (Hart had trouble getting his job back when at city), Given (cracking on a bit), even Hennessy are all good backups.
  24. Weren't we linked with Julio Cesar.
  25. Good news Hope that c**t Osvaldo is nowhere near it.
