But do you expect us to continue spending the same money we did in the summer? That was a necessary one-off to bring us up to speed with the prem;here on in, investment should be more incremental -that is, unless Cortese's serious about his plans. If so we better finish higher than Stoke and Villa.
-
Would also be good to know how much of that spend is on players with resale value - Stoke do seem to buy a lot of players who are nearer the end than the start of their careers.
-
We're on crack as CB Fry puts it. We should be more like Stoke, the epitome of temperance and moderation

Its a boring city to be honest - at least, it doesn't pretend to be otherwise.

Yep then there are the 'battered housewives' the ones who profess that they'll never come back but always dutifully do.

A reflection of their active friday nights no doubt or some retort along those lines.

A paedo's funeral gets more people than the UI - a sad shell of a mongboard that needs some classic mongboardery on here to stir it into life.

You missed the nights events on the Echo Fail thread.

Player suitability for Pochettino system
shurlock replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
Is Saints fit, Pochettino fit? Interesting question whether a gameplan based on pressing the opposition can work over here. The English game is quicker than the Spanish game to begin with, so to throw in high-intensity pressing on top of that might be a stretch too far. -
The Japanese press is now including full spread photos in their match reports of our games #big time

Good article, cheers. Usually don't find out this kind of info i.e. the actual names of teams etc. -
To be fair whenever mark 'clem' clemmit did an interview, it was always at the front of the stadium/just off the ticket office. Still...

Tho Messi has bulked up significantly - quite apart from his skill and ability, I would say being short is a physical attribute that's helped Messi (as well as Xavi, Iniesta etc). The simple physics of a game that's played with feet on the deck and requires close control and coordination, presaged by the move to a shorter passing game, makes football ideally suited to shorter players.
-
True -I also think the whole move to tiki taka football has helped shorter players who are closer to the football, helping them keep better control of it. But that's more about possession football than the ability to take players on.
-
Don't think height is an issue. Being short is increasingly an advantage IMO but if you are short better to be on the stockier side, especially if you're taking on players alot or playing in tight spaces, to take advantage of that low centre of gravity.
-
Ince is arguably more lightweight.

Read the same as well, that inter got him to bulk up after he returned from espanyol. Still don't even know if the lad's name is philippe or philipe. Maybe MLG can clear it up....or maybe not. Palace

How the f**k do you keep getting away without an edit mark at the end of your edited posts? Is there some special app available for nitpicking pedants who don't like a dose of their own medicine?
