To the citeh fan in the sunglasses and gillet pre-game

I thought they were chanting 'we are starting up' regards to themselves, being all 'manc', 'sarky' and 'irreverent'. -

City fans are turncoats - they love extolling their underdog, proper club status; but success has gone to their heads and spoilt them. Talking to their fans, it appears that if there's a problem, the solution is to throw money at it. -
The standard of that game would have given the championship a bad name.
-
Wham will need another og - only way they're going to score.
-
In Fox's defense, he probably had the hardest job defending Zabaleta who's probably been City's player of the season. Btw, thought Clyne was wild at times yesterday.
-
Not sure about that- he was dropping off quite a bit and taking up wide positions as he usually does. But yes Jrod wasn't playing in front of him. Also interesting that Jrod has looked more comfortable on the left in recent weeks, something NA was slated for.

And Shaw got injured on international duty.
-
And he can make the blind see, the deaf hear and the lame walk... More likely that Lescott and Garcia were positionally garbage.
-
Gives the gay sway a run for its money for sure.
-
Don't what his stats were like before but Punch attempted and won the most tackles yesterday (across both sides). That's a team performance as any.

As MP said the other day, we're not necessarily running anymore but running more intelligently.
-
Remember it was for a Monday game, so a different timetable/deadline might have applied.

Bentley, SS - fair enough. Still to see Lambert outpace anyone was a sight to behold.
-
Talking about CBs, how s**t was Garcia? Love the way Lambert did him twice for pace at the start of the second half -first resulting in the square ball to Punch and then Barry's calm side footed finished.

Yep I can see some of this -we're certainly more direct when we win back the ball and do tend to single out the midfielder -whether Carrick or someone else- through which play runs. The likes of Morgan and Davis are also playing like attacking defenders (pass rushers to use a US football analogy), with Cork dropping back to provide insurance against being picked off. Not sure if the back four -or specifically the CBs- are any further forward than before -or indeed need to be (another reason why we are reasonably resilient against the counter). Either way, it seems to be a system that is pretty reliant on CMs - can see them being a priority if we stay up.

Still buzzing and that result was coming. City couldn't handle us and when you pay mercenaries, you get mercenaries - Nasri being the biggest ***** of all (still remember him blanking Morgan in the tunnel at the City after Morgan, all excited to be back in the Prem, had tried to initiate a few friendly words - also read Domenech's bio). Still interested to know in what concrete ways this high pressing system differs from NA. It clearly does and the difference is significant (so far). But it's not as if we didn't press under NA -the whole Southampton fit thing and a major reason for our promotion to the Prem, though we seemed to tire much more quickly under NA. And how are we not vulnerable to the counterattack or the ball behind when pressing so high up the pitch. We've played some of the paciest, counter attacking teams yet have looked pretty solid. Always thought that was one cake you couldn't have and eat.

Boll**ks thread - shame the day we beat the champions, there are people having to crow and point score - (and think its funny). Enjoy the result as a SAINTS fan and leave it at that ffs.

Yep- they're even starting threads on him. http://www.redcafe.net/f7/morgan-schneiderlin-366081/

Can understand the sentiment but their zaniness and matey collaborations haven't got in the way of their day jobs. IMO their last 'proper' album, Embryonic ,was their best one yet -not a fan of their sugar-coated stuff- and their forthcoming album sounds like it will be good too. Not sure about them covering the Stone Roses but that's more of a general point against covers. As far as the particular album is concerned, think its pretty suited to the Flaming Lips cracked psychedelia.
-
Yep zeroed in on that as well. Love to know what it means in practice. Seems to be the key to understanding MP's system and his 'value-added'.

He was an absolute wreck at Wham, so reckon the water bottle incident was just a convenient excuse to drop him. Had he been playing lights out, the incident would have been swept under the carpet. But agree we didn't give him long enough while the whole Gazza experiment and Nige's mantra of letting younger players make mistakes could end up costing us.
