  1. Nothing to do with the high press - Fox and Yoshida weren't caught out because they were too high up the pitch. The problem was and remains that everything runs through Lambert and his ability to win and hold the ball in dangerous positions and that option was totally strangled today. That over dependence predates MP.
  2. Unlike Swansea, we have no pace in the team to do that - Jrod showed a bit of mobility but it was the exception.
  3. The high press had nothing to do with the result - if anything it was the futile long ball to Lambert that killed us. And we've been reliant on that for several seasons now.
  4. And then you sticking up for them. Hilarious.
  5. Guly's fan club who'll still insist they don't like him because he's s**t.
  6. Still bothers me he scuffed that shot against Newcastle.
  7. Reckon thats the best compilation online.
  8. Are you more jek porkins than hans solo?
  9. Did you hear the one about the skate infiltrator who's memorised every page of Fitzhugh Fella's 640 page magnum opus 'in that number', especially the chapters on the 1970s?

    The Brits

The 80s havent got a patch on the 90s for female front women.
  11. Maccy d's on an Egg card - I'm a high roller.
  12. I love using my card for minor purchases to wind people up, though I have an irrational fear that the machine will self-destruct if I spend less than a quid on it. Its both quicker and safer. Cash is kept for emergencies only.
  13. Danny Fox's
  14. FFS in none of those cases can you say there's an overwhelming consensus - you obviously don't know much about democracies, diversity and the fact you get all sorts in them. Where there is some agreement (though far from unanimous) -say Jayrod and Fox/Jos at least in the Prem, the jury's rightly still out. The only one perhaps which has arguably surprised alot of people is Shaw. On the other hand, the ones who were bigging up Shaw are also the ones who thought JWP and Gazza were going to make an immediate impact.
  15. I'm going all roger watching those. Top man on and off the pitch.
  16. True- would be very surprised if he doesn't even if he then f**ks off in the summer.
  17. Whatever happens, we bargain from a real position of strength. For now, that's the most we can hope for.
  18. Good article cheers- reinforces the idea that it was a harsh decision. Just coz they're often given doesn't make it any more valid. Never bought into singling out refs but there should be a ref watch thread for upcoming fixtures on this place.
  19. Punch is an a$$ man and a bad man
  20. Agree - another library atmosphere. No wonder the blue few got so many plaudits when they had the rest of the PL as competition. The Hawthornes is probably the noisiest place I've been to this season -and that's not saying much.
  21. He's a panicky player and easily riled - agree he's good against the long ball but not when we're under the cosh, especially away from home.
  22. Couldn't really see it from row Y. Just think Fox was done all ends up by the long ball and caught turning and don't think he had his eyes on the ball, even if he had his arms out -whether to balance or make himself big (probably a bit of both). Think it was at the more innocuous end of the spectrum but seen too many of them given to be surprised and the way the ball stopped virtually dead made it easier for Foy. Certainly the players seemed more aggrieved about the second than the third.
  23. Yep there was. Foy was shocking, illustrated by the mismatch in yellow cards. The cynical foul on Lambert towards the end as he was driving into the box was worse than any of our bookings.
  24. "A high percentage of these players have to be on it at one time for the system to work" - isn't that true of any system? That's why it's a team game... Not totally sure about the CBs - out of all our players, they still play relatively deep with one CM dropping back whenever the fullbacks push up- think Neville pointed out that the system isn't as hung ho as people imagine. Where we struggle -and we struggled to some extent with Adkins is when the two inside forwards come come central to press. The result is that it leaves massive space if you can hit a good diagonal ball and have pace to exploit it.
