  1. I don’t think loans from Man City would be a thing given that they play high possession tactics which Still will not be employing going forwards. More likely to go to Brighton, Bournemouth, Villa or Newcastle - that level.
  2. Just seen a vid on FB feed of the club rolling out THB, Manning and Lallana to make phone calls to the most loyal fans. WTF - can you actually belief the people called were very polite and full of praise and thanks? I was thinking, if Manning phoned me he’d get both barrels, but then I thought hang on, it’s not his fault he’s shite, it’s the fault of the idiot(s) picking him week in week out.
  3. If Still is employed and the window results in key ins and outs then top half. Regardless of Manager, get the player trading wrong and we’re basement fodder.
  4. Oh come on, they’ll be able to cobble together the bus fare needed to get those losers off our books! 🤞
  5. Yeah, I was hoping it be streamed via Saintsplayer - not checked to see yet, but most of this type of thing gets included.
  6. Oops - was sure today was Thursday! 😵‍💫🤭 Thanks for the linkage.
  7. It’s tonight at 8pm vs Man City. Anyone know if it’s being streamed?
  8. Pilchards has fallen out his tree and twisted his neck. In other news, I’m keeping my powder dry on Still until I see what players he’s left with by the end of the window.
  9. Are you seriously suggesting that without our best 5 players we will be at ‘around the same level’ as last season? Don’t think that’s atall obvious as we also lost - in context - better players than we have now (I know this is difficult to comprehend when at the time we thought those players were poor too). The dilution of squad quality over the last 4-5 years is truly shocking and even facing the Championship I would argue it needs significant repair especially if a new style of play is being considered.
  10. If we had a chance to purchase Big Les would you pull the trigger? I would - I think he’s improved over the season and is one of our better midfielders now - as good as or perhaps even better than Downes.
  11. Yeah I think he’s OK as a backup striker as it would appear he’s past the worst of his injury concerns, but we do need better. With one year left and injuries behind him, the club may feel it’s the right time to get some money for him - perhaps a Scottish team would be interested in ‘taking him home’?
  12. Thanks for confirming - completely lost track of where Mara went and how he’s doing. Not difficult really.
  13. OK, I’ll take the bait. 😬 For me I guess it’ll be a nice change to follow Brighton’s results (my place of birth) without feeling conflicted. Generally I do like to see the South coast teams doing well, with the obvious exception of the blue phew down the road.
  14. OMG, did Still sign Mara from us…didn’t realise that if true? Err, that doesn’t bode well, however perhaps he didn’t make those decisions in that clubs setup?
  15. Not only that, but to consistently play a style of football that almost completely nullifies the minimal strengths of those players is sheer madness - strikers hugging the wings, few crosses into the box aiming at one of the tallest strikers in the league…etc. Crass stupidity would not be too harsh a description of what we’ve witnessed.
  16. Obviously not, but I was answering your question of what would be nice to see and yes, it would be cool, although somewhat unlikely.
  17. Reportedly there will be relegation clauses in players contracts, so I wonder how many players will consider they are better than the prospect of losing money? As you say, KWP (and Big Les) are off anyway with Lallana retiring, but then Ramsdale, Dibling and Bednarek are likely to push for moves - possibly even Downes and Stephens. Theres the likes of Fraser, Taylor and ABK who will be pushing for moves given they’ve not featured in the slightest. Then there will be players with contracts that the club will make it clear are not in their plans - hopefully Manning, Wood and Aribo for example. Significant changes hopefully to break up this awful legacy of a squad.
  18. I’m not concerned whether it’s Rohl or Still TBH - either way, if the re-shaping and upgrading of the 1st team is insufficient either of them will fail and we’ll carry on the same old management merry-go-round that we’ve been used to. Conversely, if they get the team and tactics right, playing fast attack minded football, either of them are likely to be a success. Thing is, when we watch a game of football we’re watching the players, not the Manager - hence the appointment in itself doesn’t really excite me too much - it’s all about player skill, the performance and results baby!
  19. I’ll probably watch the game, despite the inevitable disappointment. I don’t mind Arsenal…they’re not a team I hold any bad feelings about really, but will do if they utterly spank us (which is highly likely). For once I’m looking forward more to the summer close season than the actual season to see what transpires with a new Manager, the anticipated squad clear out and hopefully getting to watch a transformed playing style in the pre-season friendlies (i.e. the exorcism of ‘Russball’).
  20. My source tells me it’s either Rohl or Still, with Still a gnats whisker ahead in the running. Apparently Still promised to uphold all the values SR have held so dearly for the last 3-4 seasons. LLSS.
  21. Thanks for the unwanted insight into your perverse mind. 😂😂😂
  22. You just don’t get it. That’s fine, but there’s no need to be a dick about it.
  23. Anyone else hate that noddy musak they play? I mean, wtf?
  24. Nah, too good to be true.
