  1. This - great post.
  2. I don't normally reply to threads by saying just "THIS", but on this occasion I'll make an exception. Err....oh...
  3. Would like Newcastle or the Arse at home. The way both those teams are playing right now, we would have a great chance of an upset.
  4. Just. Top. Stuff. Can't wait for Weds. I go to each game confident we will win - knowing there's no reason why we could not win, such is the strength of this team.
  5. How weird - I was just thinking that very same thought and scrolled down to see your thread. Adam has as much a right to a place on the banner as Rickie IMO.
  6. Have to agree with the OP - this start has by far exceeded my expectations. The thing is, we're looking just so good as a team. Even the defence seems to be getting better now - a couple or three more games and every team in this division is going to find it hard living with us. I really think we have a good chance of getting to the final 4 of the Carling Cup too because of our depth of squad. It's an incredible time to be a Saints supporter and there's so much more to come too.
  7. Fantastic game of football - very entertaining. NA got the tactics just right. Excellent to see Lambert cement himself as a Championship player while at Saints. Connolly is excelling in relation to our expectations - he is very fit, of that there can be no doubt. Defence needs work - especially with the new lad - their 2nd goal particularly was gifted to them. I want to see Cork at CM again, although clearly NA had selection problems. We deserved to win that game.
  8. Was a little skeptical at first of the decision to let Pardew go and then also the appointment of Adkins. However, there are very few decisions that have been made by either NC or NA that you could say have been wrong, including the appointment of Adkins himself. Nigel has proven himself to be a very, very astute all-round Manager and has clearly changed the whole dynamic of the team and the team spirit. The results are there to be seen. Unfortunately, there are a small minority who still don't get the bigger picture and I'm sure there will be an outcry of unrest if we lose on Sunday for example. It is true to say though that even the most ardent of doubters are now realising that there is something very special materialising at our club. The future at last is very bright indeed.
  9. I know what you are saying and agree he did not look as comfortable, but he was not moved to a conventional right midfield position - it was the right side of a diamond which Adkins has employed on more than one occasion successfully. I would suggest the whole midfield never looks quite right as a diamond - I don't think they really 'get it'.
  10. He was on-side. HTH
  11. He is largely as good as Harding IMO and has better distribution, but come on guys - his first start...he's been here '5 minutes' versus the rest of the squad being together for 2 seasons. Give the guy a break!
  12. Well, one thing is for sure and that is Cork was missed in midfield yesterday. Now either that is because Hammond or Morgan are not as good or perhaps the combination whatever that is works better when Cork is in it. Chaplow seems to be used now as an enforcer later on in the game which seems to work. Deano is doing a good job, however as soon as Cork is back at CM either Hammond or Morgan will be displaced.
  13. Thought he looked comfortable on the ball - aerially he was not impressive for a big bloke (as others have said, he kept heading up in the air) - shockingly poor man-marking. Hope he can improve with training/games/match fitness and bedding into the defence or I can see some problems. Frankly on that performance I would rather Jaidi or even Martin got the job first.
  14. Think we might scrape this one 2-1.
  15. Just got in to hear of this news. Pleased to see that he is stable and improving in his recovery. While the thugs that perpetrated the injury/crime should feel the long arm of the law, I also feel that if someone puts themselves into a situation then they must take some responsibility for any likely outcomes. Society today is so soft when it comes to taking responsibility for ones own actions. If you don't want to get hurt, then don't get drunk in or around a place that will harbour the kind of people that thrive on aggro - like a nightclub for example. I'm sorry to have to say that given the amount of money professional footballers earn, I am amazed that they often end up hanging around seemingly the most sleaziest of places and often to score with a slapper. Get well soon Dan.
  16. Interesting that it's just mentioned as a loan and not a loan with an option to buy. Not saying that's not potentially an option, but it's usually stated explicitly so it looks like perhaps we're waiting until January to see who/what we need to strengthen at that time.
  17. This. It would make sense that to enable transfer targets to be brought in we would want to loan out players. Win-win really.
  18. Bompey equalise.
  19. Fonte warming up - looks like Richardson might be injured enough to come off possibly.
  20. Richardson back on.
  21. P1ss-poor to be honest. Sell him on as a make-weight for Pulis. (;
  22. LOL - good call!
  23. That rubbish winger who so poor - what's his name? Oh yeah, Holmes. He provided the assist which was so good Guly hardly had to move. Ah, and then there's that rubbish Johnno Quick - he's scored. Whatever next?
  24. We're being torn a new one. Adkins out.
