BUT this is not an auto-promotion level performance in front of goal unfortunately so far - let’s hope we can stretch them in the second half. Adams is showing how immobile he really is, otherwise he would have bagged three. Would like to see Edozie on for Sully who’s having a largely ineffective game so far. Happy we’re in front but another goal early doors is very much needed.

Good to see one of best players renew his commitment to the club until he’s sold in January to top up the SR pot. Will give some more youngsters the chance to step up too.

We should be smashing the likes of Rotherham with the team RM has at his disposal. I mean 3-5 goals ruthless smash (more would be greedy). No excuses otherwise all that hard fought aggression in the Stoke game will be for little gain. RM is not off the hook yet IMO…still needs to prove he’s got the winning formula. What I really don’t want to see is the team sitting back on a 1-0 lead.

It would be very Saintsy to lose this, but I can’t believe Stoke have enough to win big so it’s going to be close. We don’t do draws, so it’s likely to be 2-1 Stoke or 1-2 Saints. Think RM needs to go same team to get some stability going.

Sulemana got MOTM somehow, but I’m glad he did…hopefully he’ll grow as an influential player in the way Mane did. The key differences for me were… (a) the lack of rigidity caused by continual adherence to the inverted wingback idea which gave KWP and Manning more flexibility to play a ‘normal game’. They did step inside but generally only deep in our half to assist playing out, the reverted back to their natural position. I can only assume that’s RM tweaking the system to make it work better - fair play if so. (b) the faster movement of the ball forwards - very telling and it suited Arma in particular so much more. Telling that this stopped after the break or the passing became more erratic. (c) the press was much more organised, with players going together rather than sporadic individuals. Again we let them come onto us more into the second half which is recipe for disaster normally, but thankfully Leeds couldn’t find their own rythym. We’ll not get away with this in other games. Feels great to have a win…really, really need to follow-up at Stoke.

Superb win. Would have liked at least one goal in the 2nd half to really stick the knife in and the Stoke performance needs to be as good for this to really make a difference.
