So champions next season, play offs season after
Legod Third Coming replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
You can have both, no problem. This year, the cup games helped to build revenue, team spirity winning mentality, etc. Next year they will do the same more effectively as we will not need to rotate the squad because of 'cup tied' players. Instead we can choose to rotate the squad to give players experience, match practice, match fitness, etc... You can't tell me that United suffered in the league because they went out to win the Champion's League, FA Cup, etc... Winning teams can win football matches. -

Such a difference in mentality between Pardew and Burley. Set your expectations and targets high and even if you miss them the worst that can happen is you end up in a second automatic spot of maybe the play-offs... Whereas, Burley always set the minimum target - play-offs, qualification, mediocrity... -
you could have had an interesting day??
-
He was, thank goodness. Cumani's horses are running well, watch out for them this week, especially when ridden by the former champ...
-
It's raining.

Agreed.

Leeds, Charlton, Millwall, Swindon, Huddersfield? Me, I'd like to wave goodbye to Leeds and Huddersfield - the rest I can get to in around an hour or so!! (Although I go a bit easier down the M4 now since I was nicked...)

is the London Marathon?

I read between the lines, that he was saying f u c k o f f a l l t h e m i s e r a b l e c u n t s who havent enjoyed this season. And I for one find that very unfortunate indeed...

Paco Boy today, is he a good thing at Sandown?

Odds for League One 2010/11 out already!
Legod Third Coming replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
My bet would be Pompey to go down doubled with Saints to go up.. at around 28/1 that's a hell of a bet! -
It's working well at Ebbsfleet... er or maybe it's not...
-
Yep agreed. It would be a hell of a result given where we started.
-
Believe me, if we get to the end of September 2010 and have won only one game, I will personally find Pardew and rearrange his scrotum! Still, the above is extremely unlikely since we are the FOURTH richest club in England and Tenth highest spenders in the last transfer window! Can't wait to see Messi in red and white

I'm sick of explaining this to the hard of thinking, but in the spirit of humand kindness... Resurrected from near death. No preseason. Squad with all the depth of Katie Price. Rebuilding job. Bedding in. End of September - won one game. Since, Promotion form. (oh and the first trophy for 34 years). Simples.
-
Of those nine games, eight were away from home to teams who also beat or drew with the other teams in the promotion hunt... Have a look at the results. How did Millwall do at Wycombe and Brentford? That run is irrelevant - because we had 'poorer' results then, but have had much better results at other times, like the last six. The point is, since the end of October our form is good enough for promotion.
-
We didn't have a poor run after Xmas. We've had top two form since October. FACT.
-
No, there is a huge expectation to be promoted. By my reckoning, no club has ever been promoted on December 25th...
-
Lambo, no question. Not just the 400 goals but also the 2567 assists.

Early on Zola appeared to be doing a good job - they finished 9th in his first season (one place better than the previous season). The question is whether that was evidence of his ability or just luck, I guess. I agree with you on big name players being appointed managers. It rarely works, apart from in the case of my favourite manager - KK!
-
Good luck to Coppell, always sounds like he knows his stuff and seems like a decent fella too.
-
Mate, that is a bet we BOTH agree on!! (One proviso, Pompey will need to be in business and in my view that is no better than 8/1...)
-
Guess you didn't see Everton earlier in the season? I think managers have bad spells, even bad seasons but it often pays to stick with a bloke who has clearly got the talent/ability to get the job done, back him and then reap the rewards... Examples that spring to mind who have had really sticky spells: Steve Bruce, Alex McLeish, David Moyes, Big Sam, Dave Jones. I just have this feeling that Zola will sit down with Gold and Sullivan, they will have a heart to heart, they will accept that he is a decent man and potentially a very good manager and with their backing he and the team will do really well next season.
-
Lol, we all have the odd heart bet my friend. I am still counting the profit of 13/2 JPT winners so don't fret for the kids school fees just yet...
-
Er, what having just taken three grand off the Tote? Why would I do that then... Tell you what, I'll even give you 6/4...
