  1. WHY ? -- Are you trying to make things difficult ?
  2. .No, they won't. ...they will travel down the M27 on a ...SKATE BOARD
  3. .you think ?.we did !
  4. well it won't be Arsenal - will it ?
  5. rather like MLT's record then ....
  6. well with not-so-much glamour left in the Cup, it looks like one of the less-popular sides may make it to Wembley. Of the top Prem. sided we have only Chelsea, Villa (and surely Man.City) left. Spurs and Wolves may not feel so comfortable with their away replays, but Wigan will surely overcome Notts-County. I'm writing this before the Scun/Man.City kick-off but don't expect any shocks there. Aside from ourselves there is only; Cardiff, Derby, Reading and West Brom left with Palace to win a replay. Fancy going into the 5th round without the likes of; Man.U, Eveton, Liverpool, Arsenal, Sunderland, Blackburn, West Ham, Hull and and Burnley... .. Will the draw be kind to us ...AGAIN !
  7. Thank goodness, say I. He has been " roasted " by people on this site after nearly all his rather " indifferent " apps. this season..let's hope he's improved and is good competition / cover for Dan Harding. Few players are good EVERY game and having some options is always good. It wasn't many seasons ago that we had SIX defenders injured at the same time. We need good back-up.
  8. AP is clearly looking to go for a play-off spot, and with additional cup games still likely ..I wouldn't like to just " hope" that everyone stays fit until May. Murty is still out and there numerous combinations of defenders, but the fluke injury to Jaidi is a typical example of what CAN happen, and he was out for 3 weeks. Add to that injuries to Hammond, and suspension of Schneiderlin and it leaves you few options not requiring James to drop back and play full back every time there's an injury. Perry had been great - when needed, but at 37 he is on a very limited future, and Thomas' occasional appearances (like yesterday) but he hasn't been a regular under any of the managers he's played for. We need replacements who are part of the sqaud and have " gelled " into the squad before next seasons start. Few people can say that AP has bought a really BAD player and only 5 of them even cost a fee. We need cover if only to be able to continue Cup and League teams in a season when we will be playing around 60 games. Aside from those players mentioned there is only Lancashire (!) and Mills, who thankfully showed up so well yesterday, after his miserable contributions earlier in the season. We need cover EVERYWHERE until the end of the season, and then they'll be some serious sorting out to do, I'm sure.
  9. oh well , that decision makes it all academic, then...well he would have been cup-tied because of that. Might put a bit more om his value..if he was part of a winning side.
  10. you mean it actually works ?....!! there seem to be people coming on and complaining all the time, especially on match days .
  11. Mmm, but if you compare them to Lambert & Co....which one would you say was the " tall one " ?
  12. if by that you mean he didn't score very often - then you're right there, but I seem to recall that he had a huge number of "assists" for Beattie (amongst others) ..there's never much credit for that (except in ice-hockey), and you'll be pleased to know that Ormerod is still " shi*e " as you describe him - except that he managed to score Blackpools 90th minute winner yesterday.
  13. Pity no-one has put them onto U-tube, we overseas fans can't see those transmissions
  14. ' I recall in the season that Beattie scored 23 (was it )?..he went the first 11 games without scoring. Lambert has been very regular and is (I think- ever present in the side) the longest run WITHOUT scoring has been 3 games. He scored 2 v.Tranmere, then " missed scoring " Norwich JPS, Leeds and Exeter... before netting again in 3 following games. He has to be one of the most consistant scorers we've had in the last 20 years. No-one should criticise him at all, he might mot be chasing every ball, but he is better than any 2 other strikers we have. No playing comparisons, but we can remind ourselves that a lot of MLT's goals were penalties (48) and some fantastic free-kicks, too. That much is similar to Lambert's game.
  15. Mmm. well if we buy the other 2-3 in the top six scorers then that should sew it up, eh?
  16. big squad maybe, but i don't think anyone is anywhere near some of the salaries that some of our former Prem.stars were rumoured to be getting
  17. hope to see someone puuting it on U tube(hint, hint) ..we exiles aren't allowed to see such priceless material !!!!!!!!!!!
  18. HOME of course...we don't want to have to cram all our fans in their little chicken coup of a ground ! Forget the pies, don't bother to go to the loos either......:smt088
  19. well.he scored in three successive games against Colchester, Luton and Millwall  ..but hasn't scored in the last two games. He's top scorer in the league....time to sell him off - d'ya think ?:tfrag:
  20. usual story for teenage players. If they haven't become top scorers after 5 games - SACK EM ! (some people do lack patience. I can recall players like Channon ..and " that Shearer lad" ...taking nearly two years to get a regular spot in the side.
  21. not the same game the1960's FA cup game was 7-1 at the Dell whilst the 1974 game was a league game away at Ipswich.
  22. ...but some of them aren't in serious contention for a first team place.
  23. GREAT memories. We all remember that Golac goal, but that video clip also showed Steve Moran's goal-poaching style - typical Moran that one.
  24. .and to make sure-he's cuptied should he move to Donnie, they are still in as well.
  25. that was my point, you really need to look carefully for players who can play in BOTH cup competitions.
