TNT go back over your programmes from January to May 2008 and read the rubbish Crouch tried to palm us off with, assuming you were at the games of course. I had an open opinion on the bloke but after reading the guff from his own pen for just 5 short months by the end of it he made a good job of proving himself to me as being obsessed with the role and his profile to the fans than the actual job in hand. IMO that is how he came across and I was relieved if nothing else for the retrun of Lowe. In any event though i remain a staunch and loyal Fan who will be in the queue for his STs as I have been for the past 12 years (Just for Toomer that one;-)) It wasnt just the investment the lies about the financial position of the club and no need to let players go in the January window. He probably said no need to sell players but sell or loan for the rest of the season its the same thing with regard to availability. His comments on the D&G appointment, his belief and everyone at the club's belief we would make the playoffs when most fans knew before Christmas we were struggling. IMO Crouch proved talk is cheap and Lowe proved positive action in a survival scenario is futile.

Agreed, what do you think of Lowe though? -

Stanley have you given up googling? 118 247 - its directory heaven. I thought you were clever and I may have ruined a thread ( I don't agree IMO) but i draw the line at the entire forum and I don't think I have ever issued veiled threats to anyone. Do you ever experience that? Must go my meds are wearing off. -

Its called putting things into context that people like you may be able to understand. Don't worry i won't give up trying although the easy option is simply to suggest hanging those who tried to make a difference as soon as they got involved instead of the alternative approach of trying to convince us everything was ok. -

I guess Mikey won't be on HIGNFY or MTW anytime soon. Not sure the Chris Tarrant Fan Club comes across as satire anymore. When's Mike new DVD coming out? Having watched some of our finest comedians perform recently to packed out theatres I have really enjoyed seeing their DVD's like McIntyre, Bailey, Merton and Boyle comparing their contribution to comedy with your brother is like comparing Lowe as a football Chairman to that of Crouch IMO. (Just to keep it topical). -

John, put your wife's blouse back in the cupboard and stop the hissy fit. Shock horror two posters agree with eachother but their seems to be many more joining the party. We can't just expect those in charge to realise the errors of their ways if this club is too survive and avoid a repeat in the future then we all need to make a sea change in our attitide and you Smithy are on of the worse IMO dressing up your hatred of Lowe as an excuse to can your ST's in order to put your daughter in a straw hat and send her to private school. Don't blame you but take that blouse off and accept you rightly put your family first. The only thing I have watched evolve over the past few months is you getting in touch with your femine side and developing self-love. -

:smt041 Ultimately, it's this attitude that will save the club as those influenced by boardroom personalities or watching premier league stars in order to support thie club do not understand the term support and will only develop their yo-yo love of the club once again when the next convieient excuse arises. We have c.15,000 hardcore fans and that needs to be the bedrock on which to re-build but sad nonetheless when you see what some of our peers can achieve during significant failure. -

True but you'll never stop them thinking it. Somebody used the analogy that is it a child's fault if they run away home. Maybe not, unless he has just torched the neighbour's car, but if an adult runs away from home isn't that simply childish or cowardly or both? -

LOL! Lowe was ousted and that set the wheels in motion to this unmitigated disaster. It may have been the worst start to a season but I doubt many before him had the empty cupboards and bank accounts to deal with left by Crouch and those before him. TNT you are making Stanley look shrewd. -

How many fans on average supported Derby when they didn't win a home game for over 30 matches? I don't know the exact number, leave that to others but my guess is it's well over 25k and that followed relegation. Same for Norwich and Charlton although they did win some home games, they must have felt spoilt. If Football is a simple commodity like a Petrol Station or a Supermarket then I would guess you are in it for the wrong reasons and suggest you simply buy a Sky subscription as it will save you getting cold and wet in the winter, well cold anyway. -

Scally, I guess I'm a bigger a fan of comedy and IMO your brother is to comedy what Buckfast is to Bordeaux. Try being original in your 'humour' or is that a trait that runs in your family? Um Pahars will be flattered as I suspect even he would appreciate a more discerning fanclub of his witty musings. -

Trousers have you got any diagrams that show the effect based on a potantial cause? Wes, to me Saints is part of my family and my relationship is as supportive. If Tesco's sell me shoddy goods I'll go to Asda and have no qualms about it. If Saints are nothing but a supermarket to you then I suggest you leave football or any sport for that matter. -

Never ever doubted the simple fact that the action of some fans was ruining the chances of our survival both then and now. Any investor will have massive reservations about the effect on their revenue streams on a simple error of judgement. misconception or upsetting some uber-fan. -
I think I have covered your conclusion except my take on the Crouch issue is that he sought to gain political capital out of his offer of a £2m investment knowing the condition for Wilde in particular would never be met. It backfired on him spectacularly and regardless of his subsequent support it remains for me a questionable decision. Lowe's regime discredited? Not as much as the previous two years Wes, not as much as the prevous two years, and for the sake of probably £500k and some March madness ST sales Lowe would have made it. Perhaps the real nail in the coffin was not selling or being able to get rid of the overhyped and ridiculously overpaid Skacel and / or Euell. Hi Wes, Put my response in your message above. BTW sorry I don't have your intelligence. I think I have been consistent and reasoned in my views on this matter from the start so please don't try to question my intelligence simply on the basis that i don't agree with you. It weakens your argument like another poster on here who tries to discredit me at every opportunity without ever attempting to comment on the content, which at least you do of course. My opinion will never change as I'm sure yours won't either so have the last word by all means but don't expect a response. Lets focus on Jackson and Green. Best regards NC

Actually it was his programme notes
-
Exactly, and any message given to the contrary will make any investor simply walk away.
-
Battersea, I have just read your post again and I apologise for my response as the irony was lost on me the first time around and having read it again I now see where you were coming from. Its a sensitive subject for me (can you tell?) and coupled with the fact I strongly believe any investor should be supported in their efforts I clearly got the wrong of the stick. Next time try throwing the stick I will probably chase it and p1ss your dog off. Neck wound in and sorry once again.
-
Exactly, watching Kelvin shovel the dogsh from his area before the start.

Thorpie I think you might be kidding yourself. You may be part of a vocal minority but I feel you are part of a far bigger silent majority. I am firmly in the same camp with you and agree totally with your comments. There are a few egos on here with inconsistent opinions and agendas so it's not surprising they have lost sight of what is important. They can forgive and forget the actions of their legends and uber fans but can't forgive a few challanging posts on a forum? In the absence of Sir Philip Green, The Duke of Westminster or the Oppenheimers riding into town I will happily support Jackson and Green as I have supported Lowe, Crouch, Dulieu, Wilde, Askham and Bates before them. Why? Because I support the Saints - no further questions.
-
Camb I read your first sentence and I have answered your question before with a reasoned reply and your lack of response I took as agreement. Therefore I have ignored the rest.
